(Headquarters: Goka-machi, Sashima-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture, President: Sadao Hishiki) announced that its President, Sadao Hishiki, spoke at the Local Revitalization Forum "Creating a Townscape of Wooden Architecture and Realizing a Forest Circulation Economy"*¹ held in Okayama Prefecture on March 30, 2026 (Monday), discussing the new possibilities of wooden architecture from the perspective of technological innovation.
<Scene of the lecture>
In the company presentation, titled "Urgent Issues and Eternal Goals," we introduced "Nano-Bonding Technology" for extending the lifespan of aging social infrastructure and SOMEY-Q TECHNOLOGY's unique "Wood Solution" technology, which protects wooden buildings and prevents deterioration. At the beginning of the lecture, we explained with practical examples that the lifespan of social infrastructure is approaching its end, and the collapse and deterioration of various infrastructures are urgent issues. We explained the "Toughening Method," which makes it possible to repair and strengthen all kinds of materials, thereby regenerating and extending the life of social infrastructure.
Touching upon today's theme of wooden architecture, we introduced strength experiments related to the joints of wooden buildings. By applying our new material to the joints between wooden parts, we demonstrated the overwhelming difference in strength compared to using screws. We also introduced the "Wood Solution Technology," which can prevent wood deterioration, and discussed the potential of wooden architecture through technological innovation, stating, "By using our technology that is compatible with anything, we can create a wide range of possibilities for (wood)."
Mr. Hishiki also participated in a panel discussion with experts from academia and government, including Mr. Ryuta Ibaraki, Governor of Okayama Prefecture, and Mr. Yasutomo Nasu, President of Okayama University. They discussed new growth models for regional economies, focusing on the promotion of wooden architecture in local areas and the circular utilization of forest resources.

The "Kusugibashi" bridge in Iwakuni City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, designed by architect Kengo Kuma, features wooden handrails where SOMEY-Q TECHNOLOGY's technology is utilized. To protect the beauty of the wood, "UV Cut Primer" and "Waterproof Clear for Wood" were applied to the wooden parts. This achieves robust waterproofing and UV protection without compromising the texture of the wood.
