'Beads of Courage' is an art intervention therapy in which children undergoing treatment for childhood cancer and other illnesses connect meaningful beads for each treatment. By having the opportunity to reflect on their own experiences while talking with trained Bead Ambassadors, they are able to understand their illness and affirm themselves for facing it. The program for childhood cancer survivors after discharge is called 'Reflection Beads'.

The connected beads are memories of treatment and proof of the courage they have shown.

At this event, 'Learning Beads', developed with a grant from the Benesse Children's Fund (*2), were introduced. 'Learning Beads' were developed with a fiscal 2023 grant from the fund. They were improved with a second grant in fiscal 2025. In addition, in conjunction with the 'Reflection Beads' workshop, a 'Seminar for Parents' aimed at the future independence and employment of children was held for the first time.

While connecting each bead—'I did it!' to acknowledge their own efforts, 'Frustrating' to put their feelings into next time, and 'Thank you' to the people around them and to themselves for being kind—children can realize their own growth.
