SoftBank Robotics Corp. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President & CEO: Fumihide Tomizawa; hereinafter 'SoftBank Robotics') will begin sales of the commercial flame-type cooking robot 'FLAMA'. In Japan, its subsidiary Gourmet X Corp. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director & President: Fumihide Tomizawa) will have exclusive sales rights for the product and will begin accepting applications from Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Furthermore, SoftBank Robotics will exhibit the product at the 29th FABEX 2026, a specialized commercial exhibition for prepared foods, delicatessens, bento, home meal replacements, eating out, and catering, starting Wednesday, April 15, 2026, where they will conduct cooking demonstrations.
'FLAMA' is based on the 'Multicooker' manufactured by Hestia Technology Limited, aimed at solving issues in the food and beverage industry such as inconsistent cooking quality and labor shortages. SoftBank Robotics combined this with their accumulated FOOD DX expertise to develop a commercial automated cooking robot tailored to the environment and use cases of Japanese restaurants. By automating the cooking process, it reduces the burden on staff, achieves stable cooking operations even with a small number of people, and allows staff to focus on tasks that provide added value to customers, such as hospitality. This single unit automates everything from the input of ingredients and seasonings to stir-frying, mixing, thickening, plating, and even post-cooking cleaning. It can be introduced without making major changes to existing kitchens and is a new cooking solution where humans and robots collaborate. Furthermore, by linking with the recipe management software 'SyncKitchen', it becomes possible to synchronize the recipes of famous chefs and popular restaurants, reproducing and offering them anywhere. This contributes to expanding new menus and creating sales opportunities. In addition to creating, managing, and updating recipes, it also supports the streamlining of menu development by accumulating development logs. It supports Japanese, English, and Chinese.
We will continue to contribute to stabilizing quality and solving labor shortages in restaurants, proposing new ways of store operations.
