Sodick Co., Ltd. has launched "SatelinC," an integrated remote service platform for machine tools.
"SatelinC" is a service platform for machine tools that integrates machine information monitoring, processing information viewing, alarm management, maintenance information management, and remote support, centered around a dedicated server installed in the machine tool. Users can check the machine's operating status and processing information in real-time from a web browser on PCs, tablets, and smartphones, thereby improving the efficiency of equipment management and maintenance operations.
Background of Development: Solving Issues Such as Disconnected Equipment Monitoring and Maintenance Support, and Security
In recent years, the manufacturing industry has been accelerating DX promotion to address labor shortages and shortages of skilled workers, and to improve equipment utilization and productivity. However, checking the status of machine tools and responding to maintenance has primarily been done on-site, creating a challenge where equipment monitoring and maintenance support were disconnected.
Furthermore, security concerns about connecting machine tool control networks to external networks have made remote utilization difficult. To solve these issues, Sodick has developed the dedicated machine tool service platform "SatelinC."

Main Features of "SatelinC"
1. Real-time Grasp of Machine Status from Anywhere in the Factory
Various machine information acquired by the dedicated server installed in the machine tool can be checked in real-time from PCs, tablets, smartphones, etc. This allows users to grasp the status of multiple machines without having to move to the site, contributing to the efficiency of equipment management operations.
2. Integrated Equipment Monitoring and Remote Support
In addition to centrally managing operating status, processing history, alarm history, maintenance history, and manual information, it enables prompt remote assistance by service engineers through integration with the remote support function "Sodick Quick Support 2."
3. Network Configuration with Safety Considerations
The configuration separates the machine control network and the information utilization network, preventing direct external access to the machine tool's control system. This enables the utilization of equipment information and remote support while maintaining the safe operation of machine tools.
In the future, Sodick plans to expand the range of compatible models, enhance functions, and deploy the platform in overseas markets. Through remote monitoring and remote support, the company aims to contribute to DX promotion in manufacturing sites, improved equipment utilization, and increased efficiency in maintenance operations.
