Social Inclu Opens New Group Home in Sapporo, Hokkaido on June 1st, Supporting Independent Living for Individuals with Severe Disabilities

Social Inclu Inc. has opened 'Social Inclu Home Sapporo Tonden 6-jo' in Kita-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido, providing a residence where individuals with severe disabilities who require daily assistance can live independently with professional support.

This facility is a daytime service support-type group home, marking the first 'Social Inclu Home' in Hokkaido. Located in Sapporo, it offers a convenient and secure living environment.

Leveraging expertise gained in various regions, the facility is designed to meet local needs and support the independent living of its residents.

Social Inclu Inc., the operator, aims to create a society where 'zero' individuals with disabilities struggle with housing, and is expanding 'Social Inclu Home' group homes nationwide based on the Comprehensive Support for Persons with Disabilities Act.

■ Daytime Service Support-Type Group Home
Daytime service support-type group homes provide 24/7 support for individuals with severe disabilities or aging individuals with disabilities who need continuous care during the day. The facility includes a short-stay unit, allowing non-residents to use it for temporary accommodation during emergencies or when family members need a break.

■ Support Tailored to Disability Needs
To enable independent living for those with severe disabilities, 24-hour support is provided. In addition to daily assistance such as bathing and excretion, meals are customized to the residents' needs, including balanced menus, mixer diets, or porridge. Staff provide daily health and medication management, and accompany residents to hospital visits and shopping.

Specialized staff create individualized support plans based on each resident's wishes and conditions. Plans are reviewed more frequently than required by law to flexibly adapt to changes and provide optimal support.

Social Inclu Home adopts a policy of exceeding legal requirements for night staffing, with a standard of two staff members per unit. The building is newly constructed specifically for this group home and features a barrier-free design.
