Regarding the Launch of "LX Sign", a Globally Compatible Cloud-Based Electronic Contract Service

　SMBC LegalX Corporation (President, CEO: Hideki Mishima, hereinafter "SMBC LegalX") has launched "LX Sign", a cloud-based electronic contract service, on SMBC LegalX's contract management platform "LegalXross" for the Japanese market. The service primarily targets domestic companies expanding into the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region and companies operating mainly in that region.

1. Background

　With the recent advancement of globalization, corporate business activities are expanding across borders, and contract operations require responses that take into account the differences in languages and legal systems of each country and region. In this environment, companies looking towards future overseas expansion or cross-border transactions are increasingly recognizing the importance of a flexible contract infrastructure that is not dependent on specific countries or regions.

　This service will initially be launched in Japan, with plans for phased expansion, considering its use in the APAC region, including India, in the future.

2. Service Overview

　"LX Sign" is a cloud-based electronic contract service. It supports an English interface for contract sending and receiving screens, enabling smooth cross-border contract procedures for domestic contracts. It also includes features that comply with the business customs of each country, such as a handwritten-style signature stamp function commonly used overseas and a parallel approval function for multiple approvers. Furthermore, we plan to consider the sequential implementation of electronic signature methods that take into account the languages and legal systems of APAC regions, including India, in the future.

　Furthermore, by integrating with "AI Contract Management," one of "LegalXross"'s services, it is possible to collectively import executed contract documents and automatically save finalized documents to a designated location. In addition, it enables the automatic generation of management ledgers based on contract information, leading to more effective contract operation and management.

3. About the LegalXross Platform Concept

　SMBC LegalX is developing the "LegalXross" platform, which seamlessly digitizes the entire contract process. We define the contract process into five quadrants: "The Creation," "The Signature," "The Management," "The Analytics," and "The Compliance." By leveraging rapidly evolving generative AI in each quadrant, we provide innovative solutions. This time, we are launching "LX Sign" in "The Signature" quadrant.
