Comprehensive transportation app 'Pass Case' begins offering 'Shonan Monorail 1-Day Free Pass'

Sumitomo Mitsui Card Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Koto-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yukihiko Onishi; hereinafter "Sumitomo Mitsui Card") will begin offering the "Shonan Monorail 1-Day Free Ticket" for Shonan Monorail Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture; President: Takashi Ogawa; hereinafter "Shonan Monorail") on the integrated transportation app "Pass Case" starting Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

While Shonan Monorail has previously offered the "Shonan Monorail 1-Day Free Ticket" via paper tickets and 2D barcodes, it will now begin offering the pass through the "Pass Case" app. By using "Pass Case," users can purchase both the "Noriori-kun" 1-day pass—introduced in March 2025 by Enoshima Electric Railway Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture; President: Satoshi Kuroda; hereinafter: Enoden)—and the "Shonan Monorail 1-Day Free Ticket" on a single app. This enables seamless travel across both Shonan Monorail and Enoden using 1-day passes via credit card-based boarding. In addition to making travel and sightseeing in the Shonan area smoother, this eliminates the need to visit ticket counters or present tickets at gates, helping to reduce congestion around ticket vending machines. Furthermore, each 1-day pass comes with special coupons and benefits. By presenting the "Pass Case" screen at participating facilities, users can also receive various services and perks.

Going forward, we will continue to utilize "Pass Case" to contribute to improving the convenience of travel and tourism across Japan, while also promoting the enhancement of regional appeal and the revitalization of local economies.

With "Pass Case," provided by Sumitomo Mitsui Card starting March 2025, once you purchase a special ticket, you can simply tap your contactless-enabled card (credit, debit, or prepaid) registered at the time of purchase on a ticket gate or dedicated terminal.
