Kami City Board of Education, Kochi Prefecture, and Sky Co., Ltd. Begin Demonstration Research for School Operations Smartification Support App "SKYMENU Mobile"

Sky Co., Ltd. is collaborating with the Kami City Board of Education in Kochi Prefecture to conduct demonstration research aimed at addressing the challenges of using personal smartphones by teachers and staff. In this demonstration research, we will introduce school operation smartphones and our school operations smartification support app "SKYMENU Mobile" for one year at the following schools to verify its effectiveness.

Background and Objectives

In recent years, there have been cases where personal smartphones are used for some school operations, leading to increased information security risks and operational personalization due to reliance on personal devices.

Specifically, the handling of photo data taken during events and classes, ensuring the immediacy of school communications, and methods for secure information sharing tend to vary by school and by teacher, ultimately leading to increased management complexity and risks.

To improve this situation, "SKYMENU Mobile" provides an environment where safe photo taking and management, communication among teachers and staff, and task management can be performed on school operation smartphones. It is a solution that centralizes information management and standardizes operational rules. This demonstration research will verify, over one year, both quantitatively and qualitatively, how the transition from the current environment relying on personal smartphones to a public environment contributes to reducing the workload of teachers and staff and establishing secure information management.

Future Outlook

Based on the knowledge gained from this demonstration research, we will further improve the functionality of "SKYMENU Mobile" and promote the development of an operational reform model for boards of education and schools nationwide.
