sinops Inc. (Headquarters: Toyonaka City, Osaka; President: Kazuhiko Okamoto; hereafter "sinops"), which provides AI demand forecasting automated ordering services for the distribution and retail industry, and Brewtope Inc. (Headquarters: Meguro City, Tokyo; CEO: Toshimasa Kanazawa; hereafter "Brewtope"), which operates a craft beer distribution platform, announced a business alliance today, April 23, "Craft Beer Day". Through this partnership, the two companies will provide the "AI Craft Beer Automatic Revision and Delivery Service", which completely automates the product selection, ordering, delivery, and even product revision based on product reviews and POS results of craft beer at retail stores. The store side only needs to display the delivered beer. This service, which supports the creation of attractive sales floors with almost zero effort, will begin test marketing in May 2026 at select food retail stores that have implemented the "sinops" series.
Background: The retail industry's dilemma - "We want to stock craft beer, but it's difficult"
In today's modern retail stores where EC expansion is progressing, experiential value that provides a "reason to purposely visit the store" is strongly demanded, far beyond mere convenience. Highly individualized craft beer is a powerful merchandise to increase a store's competitiveness, but there were extremely high barriers on the distribution front. Craft beer requires refrigeration and has the characteristic of a shorter shelf life than regular beer, necessitating careful inventory management. Furthermore, the number of domestic breweries has surged, and with over 4,000 brands and rapidly changing trends, it is extremely difficult for frontline buyers to continuously maintain an optimal assortment. Also, transactions with many breweries are still deeply rooted in individual responses such as telephone and fax, and there are many restrictions on minimum order amounts and lot numbers, making the hassle of purchasing and the risk of waste major obstacles to introduction. Brewtope has previously tackled this issue through "Otomoni Wholesale", leveraging a network of direct transactions with over 500 breweries to deliver the optimal craft beer by contracting craft beer shelves at retail stores. However, because there was no systematic data linkage with the stores, they were forced into very analog operations to grasp accurate sales results and inventory quantities.
Realizing a "Hassle-free, Risk-free" craft beer corner
In this alliance, we combine sinops' forecasting technology, which introduces demand-forecasting automated ordering to more than 120 companies and 6,700 stores *1 nationwide, with Brewtope's strengths of a network of over 500 breweries and real consumer review data exceeding 200,000 cases. We completely automate the tasks from product selection to ordering, delivery, and even product revision, which had previously been a burden on the store side. The AI automatically selects the optimal brands tailored to the store's shelf size and trends. The products are delivered in a "mixed delivery" of 24 bottles per case, making it possible to stock a variety of flavors from small-scale breweries in small quantities.
The greatest feature of this service lies in its highly advanced automatic revision mechanism reflecting POS results and consumer reviews. At the timing when inventory gets low, the AI automatically selects and revises the next recommended brands by multiplying the store's sales trends with the latest consumer reviews. As a result, a highly fresh sales floor of "what sells best at that store right now" can always be maintained automatically without human intervention. Also, to minimize the burden at the time of introduction, we eliminated the need for changes in accounting processing or new system development by utilizing the existing EDI *2. Furthermore, in the unlikely event that waste occurs due to expiration, we have established a mechanism where Brewtope and sinops cover the waste loss costs up to a certain percentage. This allows retailers to implement a high-unit-price, high-profit category in their stores without bearing the risk of inventory or waste.
*1 As of the end of December 2025
*2 A mechanism for exchanging commercial transaction documents such as contracts and orders/receipts between companies via communication lines

Future Development
Based on this alliance, we will start test operation of this service from May 2026 at some food retail stores that have introduced the "sinops" series. Through this test marketing, the two companies will establish a model where "AI demand forecasting eliminates the burden on the front lines and draws out the appeal of physical stores," and going forward, we will spread this value to retail companies nationwide that introduce sinops. By realizing optimal distribution based on data, we aim for the sound development of the Japanese craft beer market and the realization of a society where consumers can encounter exciting moments in their daily shopping.
