We are pleased to announce that Sankyu Business Service Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, President: Makoto Matsushita) has adopted "Footcare @ Work," a corporate health management support project offered by Sidas Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yokohama-shi, Kanagawa, President: Hiroaki Sugiyama), a developer and seller of sports equipment originating from France and supported by many top athletes. Through this project, we have delivered 300 pairs of the high-performance insole "Max Protect Walk" to support the health maintenance and fall prevention of employees working on the front lines.

Challenges leading to the introduction of this program
Founded in 1989, Sankyu Business Service operates multiple outsourcing businesses, including construction and engineering, handling a wide range of tasks from the maintenance and management of buildings and ancillary facilities to contract work in factory premises and warehouses, as well as payroll calculation and proxy for various insurance procedures.
In recent years, against the backdrop of a declining working population, there has been growing interest in creating a work environment where employees can continue to work healthily for a long time. Particularly in jobs that involve standing, walking, and carrying loads, the burden on the feet tends to accumulate daily, leading to fatigue, physical ailments, and even the risk of falls, creating a demand for measures tailored to actual on-site conditions. While Sankyu Business Service has previously promoted efforts to prevent falls, such as measuring the muscle strength and balance of elderly employees, connecting the measurement results to continuous behavioral changes and measures in daily operations has been a challenge.
Under these circumstances, when a preliminary test was conducted using Sidas Japan's high-performance insole "Max Protect Walk," there were no reports of falls during the trial period, and 61% of respondents felt some form of physical improvement. In addition, 10% reported "significant improvement" and 45% reported "improvement" in ease of work, while improvements in standing age and balance age were also confirmed.
Furthermore, the parent company, Sankyu Inc., has been the naming rights sponsor of the women's rugby team "Tokyo Sankyu Phoenix" since FY2019, to which athletes Yuna Sato and Wakana Okuno (*) belong. Sidas Japan has been supporting both athletes by creating custom insoles for them. The existence of athletes who actually experience the benefits of Sidas in competitive sports also contributed to the sense of trust when considering this adoption.

Based on these combined results, the decision was made to introduce this project as a measure to simultaneously improve ease of working and strengthen safety and health aspects by reducing the burden on the feet.
Actions after introduction
Following the introduction, 300 pairs of "Max Protect Walk" will be delivered to target employees to be worn in their daily work shoes or company-provided shoes. We also plan to hold "Foot Health Seminars" to deepen employees' understanding of their feet, as well as measurement sessions to grasp the condition and characteristics of their feet. Moving forward, we will proceed to verify the effects on reducing foot burden, improving ease of work, and ensuring safety and health while confirming usage status on-site and feedback from wearers.

Sidas Japan will continue to recruit companies wishing to introduce "Footcare @ Work," supporting workplace environment improvements starting from the workers' feet.
Comments from the adopting company
Makoto Matsushita, President, Sankyu Business Service Co., Ltd.
"In our company, many employees are engaged in tasks that involve standing and walking, making consideration for daily fatigue accumulation and the reduction of fall risks an important theme from both health management and occupational safety perspectives. This time, we decided on a full-scale introduction because, through the preliminary test, we were able to confirm positive results regarding the reduction of fatigue associated with easing the burden on ankles, knees, and lower back, and we could also envision its concrete application on-site. Rather than just adding equipment, we want this to lead to creating an environment where each person working on the front lines can face their duties with a little more peace of mind and comfort. We will continue to work on continuous workplace environment improvement while monitoring actual operational status."
