Niece/Nephew Peace of Mind Insurance / Yaki Ringo

● Insurance Idea

My aunt passed away the year before last. She was married, but her husband had already passed away, and she had no children, so she was alone in the end. As her niece, I took care of her from before her death and handled the post-death procedures. However, since I was not a legal heir, many procedures were difficult. In the future, the number of single individuals and childless couples will increase, and patterns where nieces and nephews inherit will also increase. I thought it would be good to have insurance for people who want to leave their inheritance to their nieces and nephews.

First, the money needed for procedures. Banks take time to release funds, but with insurance, if the beneficiary is designated, the money can be received quickly, which was a great help. Funeral costs, burial costs, property taxes on the home, fees for inheritance tax accountants, judicial scriveners, inheritance tax, etc. My aunt left enough to cover these, which was a great help.

I thought it would be good to have insurance where you can save money in advance, designate a beneficiary, and have things done smoothly after your death.

● Judges' Comments

・The focus on the "realistic burden of procedures" in inheritance and the practical burden borne by nieces and nephews who are not legal heirs accurately captures the societal changes of increasing single elderly individuals and those without children. The idea of supporting both "money" and "procedures" together, including the point that designating a beneficiary allows for prompt action, felt fresh. Furthermore, by providing supplementary services such as a procedural guide for cases where the beneficiary is not a legal heir, it could become a more reassuring product.

・The number of single individuals and childless couples is increasing, and cases where nieces and nephews handle post-death procedures are on the rise. In such cases, designating a niece or nephew as the beneficiary eliminates the need to front the immediate expenses after death, and the large number of potential beneficiaries makes it suitable for insurance.

● Winner's Comment

Thank you very much for selecting me for the Grand Prize. I am extremely happy. The "Niece/Nephew Peace of Mind Insurance" that won this award was an idea I came up with based on my own experience as a "niece" handling an inheritance, experiencing the difficulties of legal procedures, and conversely, being helped by insurance that allowed for quick processing.

In today's era, as more people choose not to marry or have children for various reasons, I believe cases where relatives other than nieces and nephews are relied upon will increase in the future. By leveraging the inherent benefit of insurance products, which allow for faster receipt of funds by designating a beneficiary, and by providing support for the initial steps of procedures for non-legal heirs, I applied with the idea that it would be a product that brings peace of mind to both parties. I would be happy if my experience could lead to an insurance service that helps someone in the future. Thank you very much for this award.

Nursery School "Baptism" Insurance / Mebuyon

● Insurance Idea

An insurance policy to alleviate the burden caused by the continuous illnesses of children to parents after entering nursery school (the so-called "nursery school baptism"), which almost all families experience.

Within a few weeks to several months after enrollment:

・Child repeatedly develops fever and infectious diseases

・Parent caring for the child also falls ill

・Inability to take time off work and disruption to daily life.

 Coverage includes:

・Subsidy for sick child care and babysitter services

・Subsidy for housekeeping services and meal delivery services

I thought it would be good to have insurance that could supplement the anxieties of daily life not covered by medical insurance alone.

Rainy Day Cold Game Insurance / Waiwai Yarou

● Insurance Idea

A "rainy day cold game" occurs when a game is suspended due to rain after the end of the 5th inning, meeting specific criteria. In such cases, the game is considered official, and there is no refund for the ticket price.

Spectators purchase tickets expecting to watch until the 9th inning. This insurance idea compensates for the loss of enjoyment from the 6th to 9th innings.

【Honorable Mention】

Digital Tattoo Relief Insurance / Kotsubo

Pet's "I'm Counting on You" Insurance / Korobanu Sakino Nantotara

Hometown Festival Revival Cheer Insurance / Nao

Student Division

【Grand Prize】

Let's Go Out Together Mobile Insurance / Suezawa

● Insurance Idea

In recent years, there have been frequent reports of fires caused by lithium-ion batteries installed in mobile batteries while out and about. If such a fire were to occur in a public facility, public transportation such as trains or airplanes, and escalate into a major incident, there is a possibility of being charged with high amounts of damages. Therefore, I conceived of "Mobile Insurance." This insurance would cover a portion of the damages in cases where a fire caused by a device with a built-in lithium-ion battery occurs in public places or on public transportation.

The covered products include not only mobile batteries but also smartphones and laptops, but the coverage is limited to damages incurred while out. In other words, it is "Let's Go Out Together Mobile Insurance" in the sense of "carrying insurance" outside.

The main users of mobile batteries are young people, and if a serious fire were to occur, it is conceivable that one person could not bear the responsibility alone. Therefore, I believe mobile insurance is a necessary insurance for modern times.

● Judges' Comments

・The name of the insurance suggests that it is perceived as familiar. The focus on the point that young people cannot bear the responsibility alone is also good.

・Restrictions on carrying portable mobile batteries are increasing, leading to more cases where they cannot be taken on airplanes without being handed over. The risk of actual ignition cannot be ignored, so preparing for such risks with insurance is something that is needed in this era.

● Winner's Comment

I am truly honored to have been selected for such a wonderful award, the Grand Prize, from among many entries.

I applied for this contest as a way to take a break from my test studies and do something interesting. While thinking of ideas on my commute train, my eyes happened to fall on a "mobile battery" connected to my smartphone.

In recent years, there have been a series of incidents where mobile batteries have caught fire. Every time I heard about it on the news, I became afraid of carrying a mobile battery. I believe that if you could also carry "insurance" with you, it would provide peace of mind in case of an emergency. I hope that the "Let's Go Out Together Mobile Insurance" that I came up with will actually be commercialized.

Creator Compensation "Run-Off" Relief Insurance / martina.

● Insurance Idea

With the rapid increase in freelancers and side-hustlers working in fields like illustration and video editing, non-payment of fees after delivery and going incommunicado are serious issues. Despite spending long hours on production, the client suddenly becomes unreachable and absconds. For small projects of tens of thousands of yen, the cost of legal fees exceeds the compensation, leading to a situation where victims have to accept their losses.

This insurance would fully compensate for the delivery amount in cases of non-payment in online transactions, and also handle dunning notices on behalf of affiliated lawyers. It is a system to protect the rights of freelancers who had given up due to the small amounts involved.

As a freelance creator myself, I constantly worry about non-payment. I propose this insurance from the perspective of a user to create an environment where people can focus on their creative work with peace of mind.

Oshi-tabi (Fan Travel) Goods Carrying Insurance / Azarashi

● Insurance Idea

"Oshi-katsu" (supporting a favorite character or idol) has become a national culture. Especially for fans who carry acrylic stands of their favorite characters and take photos while traveling, these are prone to breakage. However, existing portable item insurance has a deductible (out-of-pocket expense) barrier, meaning goods worth a few thousand yen are not covered.

Therefore, I believe it would be beneficial to have "Oshi-katsu exclusive goods breakage insurance" that can be purchased for a few hundred yen when buying live concert tickets or making travel reservations.

This system would offer compensation equivalent to the retail price or a condolence payment upon breakage, with no deductible. Even without high compensation, it can alleviate the shock of losing cherished goods that are a "source of emotional support" for fans, creating an environment where they can enjoy their oshi-katsu with peace of mind.

【Honorable Mention】

Food Truck Insurance / K-project

Peace of Mind Return Home Insurance / Yozuki

As a result, a Special Award was established.
