This year marks the 55th anniversary of Kamen Rider, and a whiskey featuring Kamen Rider Kuuga, the origin of the Heisei Kamen Rider series, is now available! Two exquisite single malts from Speyside, the holy land of Scotch.

Kamen Rider has thrilled children since its broadcast began in 1971. Kamen Rider Kuuga appeared in 2000, on the cusp of the new 21st century. It became the origin of the Heisei Kamen Rider series and has continued to captivate children alongside the changing eras, all the way to the Reiwa period.

WHISKY MEW has previously released label whiskeys for Showa-era Kamen Riders such as Kamen Rider 1, 2, and V3. To celebrate the 55th anniversary of Kamen Rider, we are releasing a Kamen Rider Kuuga label whiskey, representing the hero from the Showa era into the next generation.

Whiskey critic Hideo Yamaoka has carefully selected two whiskeys. Secret Speyside 2007. The distillery name is undisclosed, but enthusiasts will likely recognize it as a distillery that prides itself on family management, direct-fire distillation, and maturation in sherry casks. It has aromas of raspberry jam and strawberry tart, with a taste that begins with the sweetness of brown sugar and leads to a spicy finish. Port cask characteristics add depth to its aroma and flavor.

The other is Dailuaine 2013. The Dailuaine distillery primarily produces the base for Johnnie Walker, and its single malts are not widely available, making it quite rare. It offers a refined fruity aroma and a fruity, malty taste. This is a well-balanced, fruity, and floral Speyside malt with a hint of spice and a long, sweet finish.
