Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions Opens "Shogakukan Academy Hobby Plastic Model Club" for Adults, Offering Trial Workshops on April 28 (Tue) and May 2 (Sat).

Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Satoshi Matsui) will open a 12-session plastic model course for adults at Hibiya Library & Museum (1-4 Hibiya Park, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) starting Saturday, May 23, 2026. This course is designed for individuals who want to seriously pursue plastic model making as a lifelong hobby, those who gave up due to lack of knowledge or skill in childhood, or beginners who want to learn the basics and improve. The curriculum, which focuses on "10 essential tasks for plastic model production," was developed by Tomoe Ogoshi, a lecturer at Osaka University of Arts' Character Design Department and a professional modeler. Trial workshops will be held on April 28 (Tuesday) and May 2 (Saturday) at Hibiya Library & Museum Seminar Room. Each trial session is 120 minutes, costs 2,000 yen (tax included), and has a capacity of 12 participants. The main course runs from May 2026 to March 2027, with 12 sessions held monthly or twice a month. Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions has also operated the "Shogakukan Academy Painting Club" for adults since 2001, with over 1,400 students currently enrolled.
