New Balance Harajuku Flagship Store to Host POP-UP Store for "Grey Days," Celebrating New Balance's Heritage and Innovation

New Balance Japan (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Shinichi Kubota) announced today that it will hold its annual "Grey Days" event, celebrating the brand's iconic "grey" color globally, for one month starting May 1, 2026. In Japan, events and campaigns will be held at select official stores, including the flagship store New Balance Harajuku, and the New Balance official online store.

■ What is Grey Days?

"Grey Days" is an annual event celebrating everything New Balance embodies. During this month-long event, New Balance family ambassadors and athletes will gather to convey the timeless appeal of "grey" through exclusive products, events, and stories.

■ "Grey" for New Balance

Grey was first incorporated into New Balance designs in the 1980s as a practical choice for urban runners. While competitors adopted neon colors and vibrant whites, New Balance proposed grey as a color that naturally harmonizes with urban concrete and asphalt. What was initially a unique choice evolved into an iconic expression for the brand, shaping New Balance's identity for decades.

"Grey Days 2026" Event Overview

■ "Grey Days POP-UP Store" at New Balance Harajuku

From Friday, May 1st to Tuesday, June 16th, a "Grey Days POP-UP Store" will be held in the "Stage" area on the 1st floor of New Balance Harajuku. New Balance Harajuku is one of only three flagship stores worldwide and a place that embodies New Balance's craftsmanship. This year's Grey Days will feature in-store experiential content and running events. We have prepared a space and content where customers can rediscover and discuss the charm of Grey they feel, alongside messages from the brand.

The 1st floor Stage area offers content where you can experience the world of Grey Days. One such content allows you to choose your favorite grey from various shades and create your own grey shoe sticker by coloring New Balance's iconic model "574" and the innovative "ABZORB2000." You can take home the completed sticker. We also have a photo spot where you can take pictures of your feet with your companions. Why not capture your favorite NB shoes and make it a memory of Grey Days 2026?

■ Japan-Exclusive Color "1906R" Released

To commemorate "Grey Days 2026," the Japan-exclusive GORE-TEX equipped "1906R" will be released. This special pair combines various grey colors of New Balance. The "1906R," reborn by reconstructing the running shoe "1906" named after the brand's founding year "1906," features a high-spec sole with excellent shock absorption and repulsion. It proposes a modern and timeless style while inheriting the aesthetics of 2000s running shoes.
