“Kaiki Daisakusen” (Operation Mystery), a tokusatsu TV drama from Tsuburaya Productions, was broadcast from 1968 to 1969. This work, depicting the activities of the Science Research Institute (SRI) as they confront mysterious scientific crimes disguised as inexplicable incidents, is still loved by many tokusatsu fans. During its broadcast, a legendary comic adaptation serialized by Ryoichi Ikegami, known for works like “Trillion Game” and “Sanctuary,” in “Shogaku Sannensei” (Third Grader) magazine is now being released as a standalone book for the first time!
In addition to reproducing the original color pages from the serialization, the book will also include a newly written essay by Masaki Tsuji, who was responsible for the original stories of episodes 2-4, and a new interview with Ryoichi Ikegami. It will be released on April 30, 2026.
