Bando Tamasaburo Dance Collection 1: Kyo Kanoko Musume Dojoji
At Dojoji Temple in Kishu, where cherry blossoms scatter, a beautiful shirabyoshi dancer named Hanako appears at the bell consecration ceremony, a place forbidden to women. Allowed to enter on the condition of performing a dance, she dances out the changing heart of a woman in love, brilliantly and charmingly. However, her true identity is the ghost of Princess Kiyohime, who was betrayed in love and turned into a serpent through obsession.
Tamasaburo's magnificent dance, multiple costume changes, and the stunning climax where she finally jumps into the bell and reveals her true nature. A supreme masterpiece that encapsulates the charm of onnagata.
[Included Work] 'Kyo Kanoko Musume Dojoji: From the Journey to the Bell Entrance'

Bando Tamasaburo Dance Collection 2: Sagi Musume
Under a willow tree by the waterside in the falling snow, a young woman in a white kimono stands alone holding a snake-eye umbrella. The woman is actually the spirit of a white heron troubled by forbidden love. She expresses her single-minded love, but eventually returns to her heron form, suffering from unfulfilled love, and breathes her last in the falling snow.
A poignant and fantastical scene showcasing Tamasaburo's delicate psychological portrayal and the 'hikinuki' technique of instant costume change.
[Included Works] 'Nagauta Sagi Musume', 'Jiuta Kurokami', 'Jiuta Kane ga Misaki', 'Ogie Inabune', 'Tokiwazu Yamamba'

In Tang Dynasty China, Emperor Xuanzong, unable to forget his deceased consort Yang Guifei, orders a sorcerer to search for her soul. When the sorcerer summons Yang Guifei's soul at a palace on Mount Penglai, she appears in her former beautiful form. Yang Guifei dances while recalling memories with the emperor, with whom she swore eternal love. A beautiful dance written by popular author Baku Yumemakura for Bando Tamasaburo, inviting viewers into a dreamlike realm. A dignified and poignant scene depicting an eternal farewell amidst serene music.
[Included Works] 'Yohiki', 'Ogie Takao', 'Gidayu Daija', 'Kiyomoto Yugiri', 'Jiuta Kane ga Misaki'

Bando Tamasaburo Dance Collection 4: Kagami Jishi
In the great hall of Edo Castle, a young page named Yayoi is to perform a dance at the New Year's ceremony. In her hand, as she dances shyly and prettily, is a lion's head mask passed down in the Tokugawa family. However, when the spiritual power of the lion possesses her, Yayoi disappears as if dragged away. Soon, appearing in a valiant guise is the spirit of the lion, the king of beasts.
A magnificent masterpiece showcasing Tamasaburo's brilliant portrayal, shifting from the 'calm' and lovely girl to the 'dynamic' and fierce lion, with stunning technique and dignity.
[Included Works] 'Kagami Jishi', 'Ogie Kanaya Tanzen', 'Jiuta Kagen no To'

Bando Tamasaburo Dance Collection 5: Onatsu Kyoran
On a late autumn road in Omi. Onatsu, a young woman who lost her beloved Seijuro to execution, loses her sanity from overwhelming grief and wanders chasing the phantom of her lover. Teased by village children, meeting a horse trader and an elderly pilgrim couple, she firmly clutches Seijuro's keepsake, a sedge hat. A masterpiece in which Tamasaburo delicately portrays a woman's heart swaying in deep loneliness and madness. A woman who remained true to her love, expressed through supple dance.
