In the Akashina region of Azumino City, Nagano Prefecture, the "Azumino City Akashina Region Outdoor Meeting Summer Program," where parents and children can learn to embrace and interact with the natural environment together, will be held on Saturday, June 6th, and Sunday, June 7th, 2026. Participants from inside and outside Nagano Prefecture are being recruited, and a wide variety of activities such as tent camping, BBQ, and clear stream rafting can be experienced.
**Full 2-day experience offered at a reasonable price**
For 5,000 yen (tax included) per adult, all costs are included: dinner and breakfast, rental fees for camping equipment and life jackets, and insurance. Elementary, junior high, and high school students are free. Tent pitching, bonfires, breakfast cooking, BBQ workshops, river rafting experiences, and river cleaning – experiences that would normally require separate fees – await one after another.
**Learning while playing: "Leave No Trace"**
The core of the program is the environmental ethics program "Leave No Trace." Participants will practically learn how to enjoy the outdoors while minimizing impact on nature and leaving no trace. Because it's an experience in a park surrounded by nature, consideration for the surrounding environment and others is important. By learning actions to protect nature while playing, parent-child bonds will also deepen.
**A luxurious nature experience set in Ryumonbuchi Park**
The venue is Ryumonbuchi Park along the Saigawa River, overlooking the Northern Alps. In early summer, when irises are in full bloom, participants will enjoy BBQ with local ingredients and clear stream rafting, and engage with the natural environment through camping experiences like tent pitching and river cleaning experiences. With the cooperation of professionals such as the Shinshu BBQ Association and a river rafting operator (Amenbo) with 18 years of experience, a safe and high-quality experience is realized.
**Limited to 10 parent-child/family groups of elementary school age or older**
The target is 10 parent-child/family groups (approximately 30 people maximum) of elementary school age or older. If there are many applications, a lottery will be held. Tent pitching, cooking, overnight tent camping, and clear stream rafting require a moderate level of physical fitness, but most necessary equipment can be rented. Even beginners can participate with peace of mind.
**Apply now! Deadline is May 18th**
The application deadline is Monday, May 18th, 2026. Lottery results will be notified around Wednesday, May 20th. Applications from outside Nagano Prefecture are also welcome. This summer, why not awaken to the charm of outdoor activities that care for the environment with your family?
