Shinchosha Publishing Co., Ltd. (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo), together with Artist Agent Links LLC (Setagaya-ku, Tokyo), will stage an original musical based on the popular comic "Rokuhoudou Yotsuiro Biyori" (currently serialized in the web comic magazine "Comic Bunch Kai") at "CBGK Shibugeki!!" from Friday, October 16 to Sunday, October 25, 2026.
Serialized since 2013, "Rokuhoudou Yotsuiro Biyori" is a heartwarming story set in a Japanese sweets cafe named "Rokuhoudou," run by four specialists: Sui (manager/tea), Gure (latte art), Tsubaki (sweets), and Tokitaka (cooking). The story depicts warm episodes about sweets, tea, and cafes, interwoven with the four characters' backgrounds and their heartfelt interactions with visiting customers.
Having been adapted into an anime in 2018 and a live-action drama in 2022, the series will now see its first-ever musical adaptation in Autumn 2026.
The creative staff features a team of up-and-coming talents: script and lyrics by Yasuhiro Motoyoshi, known for the musicals "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood" and "The Twelve Kingdoms"; composition and music direction by Juna Nishi, who planned/composed "8singers" and directed the reading musical "Hikarareshi Onnadomo"; and directed by Yuichi Harada, active as a musical actor (Marius in "Les Misérables", Chris in "Miss Saigon") and director (off-Broadway musical "bare").
The cast brings together actors with proven musical abilities. The manager, Sui, is played by Kaname Futaba (Saeki Kojiro in "The Prince of Tennis 3rd Season", Yuki Hideyasu in "Touken Ranbu"). Tokitaka is played by Ryo Hirano (Shakespeare in "Inside William", Gaku Yasuaki in "Nihon Sangoku"). Gure is played by Yuya Uno (Haganezuka Hotaru in "Demon Slayer Stage Part 5", Nagamine Shiryo in "Nihon Sangoku"). Tsubaki is played by Daiki Naito (Marius in "Les Misérables", Perchik in "Fiddler on the Roof").
Furthermore, Sui's twin brother, Togoku Hakkyo, is played by Yu Futaba (the real twin brother of Kaname Futaba). Tsunozaki, the genius patissier supporting Hakkyo, is played by Kazuya Matsunaga. Regular customer Tenjin-san is played by Hiroshi Hatanaka. Ensemble cast members will support as other regular customers.

Yu Shimizu (Original Author)
"I never dreamed the day would come when the Rokuhoudou members would sing...! The vice president, the patissier, and the customers will sing too.
I am truly grateful that you are creating a new Rokuhoudou in the wonderful form of a stage version.
I am very excited as an audience member to see what kind of hospitality the characters will show on a stage created in real time by flesh-and-blood cast and staff."
Yasuhiro Motoyoshi (Script/Lyrics)
I am Motoyoshi, in charge of the script and lyrics. It is very fun to turn the various things of the people gathering in this one place called "Rokuhoudou" into songs as a musical. Their scenes came vividly to mind, and my pen flew. Yes, I ran east and west, lost in thought. Because the more I read the original work, the more heartwarming it is, and various things come to mind as songs. Just as the word for script in Japanese is "Gikyoku" (play/drama), I think music and scripts are inherently compatible, or rather, inseparable. What does singing a song accomplish in this one story? I worked hard to choose from many possibilities. Things that don't change and things that change. I hope you enjoy the story that connects them.
Juna Nishi (Composition/Music Director)
I am honored to serve as the composer, music director, and performer this time. Although it is my first experience, I am very honored to be involved in this work.
When I read the original work, I thought Sui was the main character, but I felt everyone's problems and worries very closely, and I felt that every character is a protagonist.
I am looking forward to seeing how the melodies of such gentle and unique characters intersect. And the small... (text cut off)
