The paperback edition of the popular interview series 'Maha Harada Goes to Meet the Masters of Art' by Maha Harada, originally featured in 'Geijutsu Shincho,' was published by Shinchosha on March 30, 2026.
'I want to meet that person I admire; I want to meet them and hear their story. That desire became my wings, and I flew off to meet these masters. Every conversation illuminated my path. I believe that it will surely illuminate your path as you read this book, too.' (From the Afterword)
I want to meet that person. I want to meet them and hear what they have to say. Maha Harada, a master of art novels who has depicted the lives of numerous historical artists such as Picasso, Van Gogh, Monet, and Rousseau, goes to meet and interview 33 masters of art living in the modern era—including Shuntaro Tanikawa, Keiko Takemiya, Tadao Ando, and Yoji Yamada. Art, architecture, poetry, manga, photography, film... the 'golden sayings' spun by these pioneers who have mastered their crafts will become a lighthouse beam to illuminate the course of your life. A profound and exquisite collection of dialogues.
