Shiba Park Hotel (Operated by Shiba Park Hotel Co., Ltd. / Minato-ku, Tokyo, President Tadayoshi Tanaka) will host the 'TOKIO ART BOOK FAIR 2026 by TOKYO ART BOOK FAIR' (hereinafter 'TOKIO ART BOOK FAIR') from Friday, May 1 to Sunday, May 3, 2026.

The TOKIO ART BOOK FAIR is a book fair organized by the TOKYO ART BOOK FAIR (hereinafter 'TABF'), structured around networks in art book publishing. This year, 52 groups including domestic and international artists, publishers, bookstores, and galleries who engage in unique activities through publications such as art books and zines will gather.

For this fair, an invite-only exhibition format is adopted instead of a public call. 16 groups with experience exhibiting at TABF are selected by the management team as host exhibitors, and each host exhibitor recommends and invites two guest exhibitors. Through this 'chain-reaction selection method,' new contexts are born starting from local friendships among artists, publishers, bookstores, and galleries. The aim is to create a space where the appeal of art books branches out and spreads, while the values nurtured within each community intersect.

Our hotel, which serves as the venue, was founded in 1948. In 2020, under the new concept of a 'Library Hotel connecting people, the city, and history,' we curated a collection of about 2,000 books within the building, creating a space where guests can feel close to art and culture. Continuing from last year, to provide an experience where visitors can deeply immerse themselves in the world of the works by fusing the hotel's calm library space with an art book fair, we will rent out an entire floor on the 2nd level, set up exhibition booths in the banquet halls, and create a venue utilizing the unique space of the hotel, including a special lounge area where guests can enjoy food and drinks.

While drawing from the flow of TABF, known as one of Asia's largest art book fairs, TOKIO ART BOOK FAIR was born last year as a 'parallel existence' focusing on more personal and local contexts. Please enjoy a fair where not only encounters with books, but also the interactions born here and moments of quiet rest overlap, allowing rich and creative time to expand within each individual.
