Sendenkaigi Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Tomoya Takahashi; hereinafter "the Company") and QO Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Masaru Tsuguto; hereinafter "QO") have launched a joint project focusing on the impact of "extreme heat" caused by climate change in Japan on consumers' lifestyles, values, and purchasing behaviors.

In recent years, record-breaking heatwaves have become常态化 in Japan, significantly altering consumers' daily lives and consumption patterns. Particularly in the food and beverage, leisure, and apparel industries, product demands, best-selling items, and consumption scenarios are undergoing transformation. In this project, the Company and QO will leverage their respective strengths to comprehensively analyze "consumer changes brought by extreme heat" and derive actionable insights for corporate marketing activities.

Joint Project Combining the Strengths of Both Companies

As a specialized media company in the fields of marketing, advertising, and communication, the Company has cultivated a broad network with partner companies by covering and reporting on numerous corporate marketing challenges and success stories. Meanwhile, QO, established as a joint venture between Macromill and Hakuhodo, is a marketing support company renowned for its rich research insights and strong capabilities in interpreting social trends and consumer insights, providing end-to-end support from situation analysis to strategy formulation and effectiveness evaluation.

This project will integrate:

- Industry challenges and case insights provided by the Company

- Consumer data analysis and insight extraction by QO

- Joint marketing planning by both companies

to explore new marketing opportunities in the era of climate change.

Conducting a Survey on "Lifestyle Changes Due to Extreme Heat"

The survey will analyze the impact of heatwaves on daily life, changes in外出 and leisure activities, shifts in food and beverage purchasing behaviors, changes in fashion and apparel demand, emerging needs for heat countermeasures, and evolving awareness of climate change. Beyond mere market data compilation, the project will leverage QO's expertise in consumer insight analysis to deeply explore "why these changes are occurring" and "what value propositions companies should offer."

Offering Free Individual Consultations for Five Selected Companies (Application Deadline: June 30)

As part of this project, five selected companies from industries highly affected by market changes due to extreme heat—such as food and beverage, leisure, and apparel—will be invited to participate in free individual consultations. During these sessions, the specialized teams from both companies will discuss and propose insights based on the joint survey findings, including market impact analysis, anticipated shifts in consumer needs, directions for product and service development, communication strategies, and future marketing initiatives.

Comment from the Company's Representative

Kazuhiko Yoshida, Executive Officer, Sales Headquarters, Sendenkaigi Co., Ltd.

"The常态化 of record-breaking heatwaves is no longer just an environmental change; it has become a critical business challenge that fundamentally alters consumers' values and purchasing behaviors. In many industries, including food and beverage, leisure, and apparel, the traditional 'summer norms' are no longer applicable. Companies now need to offer new value propositions based on subtle shifts in consumer insights.

In this project, we will combine our deep understanding of industry challenges with QO's excellent data analysis and insight extraction capabilities to explore practical marketing opportunities for thriving in the age of climate change. We hope that through these limited individual consultations, participating companies can turn this crisis into an opportunity and pioneer new markets."
