【SEKIYA RESORT】Concludes Internship Agreement with Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia

SEKIYA RESORT Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Beppu City, Oita Prefecture) has concluded an industry-academia collaboration internship agreement with Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) with the aim of fostering international human resources that connect local communities with the world.

In Beppu, an international tourist city visited by tourists from all over the world, the values and communication required in the accommodation industry are becoming more diverse. This initiative aims to create opportunities for students to practically learn about Japan's accommodation industry and hospitality culture, while deepening their understanding of diverse cultures and fostering tourism professionals with an international perspective.

Promoting Tourism Human Resource Development from Beppu to the World

This agreement was concluded on May 5, 2026, and is scheduled to be implemented from February 1, 2027, to January 31, 2028. The target students are those who possess a certain level of Japanese language proficiency and aim to build a career utilizing their learning in the future.

The internship will provide practical learning in a wide range of operations related to hotel and ryokan management. In addition to on-site work such as restaurant service and room cleaning, the aim is to gain comprehensive experience necessary for the accommodation industry, including communication in Japanese and understanding unique Japanese hospitality and culture. Furthermore, by experiencing local culture and Japanese life on-site, the initiative also aims to create opportunities to cultivate multicultural understanding and an international sensibility.
