Announcement of the Launch of the Film-type Perovskite Solar Cell Business 'SOLAFIL'

Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd. (President: Ikusuke Shimizu, hereinafter 'Sekisui Chemical'), together with Sekisui Solar Film Co., Ltd. (President: Futoshi Kamiwaki, hereinafter 'SSF'), which is responsible for the product design, manufacturing, and sales of film-type perovskite solar cells, has been working on the commercialization and product development of the film-type perovskite solar cell 'SOLAFIL'. We are pleased to announce that we have decided to launch the business and have begun concrete discussions for supply to customers.

1. Background Sekisui Chemical and SSF have been working on the development and establishment of mass production technology for the film-type perovskite solar cell 'SOLAFIL' with the goal of commercialization in fiscal year 2025. Having now established manufacturing technology using existing equipment and completed preparations for the commercialization of products and installation specifications for metal roofs, we are launching the business for film-type perovskite solar cell products.

2. Overview of Commercialization (1) Municipalities and businesses selected under the Ministry of the Environment's 'FY2025 Project to Support the Introduction of Perovskite Solar Cells for Creating Social Implementation Models': [Target Municipalities/Businesses] Saitama City, Shiga Prefecture, West Nippon Expressway Company Limited, Fukuoka Prefecture, Fukuoka City

(2) Tokyo Metropolitan Government's 'Project for Prior Introduction of Air Solar to Metropolitan Facilities' We will provide products for installation on metal roofs to the entities in (1) and (2) above.
