Author Profiles
Text by Tsubasa Suzuki
Born in Suginami Ward, Tokyo. After working at a nursery school and a child-rearing support center, he became a children's song writer. He holds workshops for childcare providers, writes for childcare magazines, and performs children's song live shows at concerts and at nursery schools, kindergartens, child centers, and child-rearing support centers. He appeared on NHK's "Minna DE Do-mo-kun." He is an adjunct professor at the Department of Childcare, Osaka University of Arts Junior College. His picture book works include the "Nandeyanen" series, the "Obake Mansion" series, "Dorokyoryu," and "Daijoubu? Zuko!" (Sekai Bunka Publishing), among many others.
Illustrations by Hiroe Aoki
Born in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture. After working for the Osaka-based illustration group "K.K. Spoon," she debuted in 2004 with "Papa to Boku" (Ehonkan). Her major works include "Shiba Inu no Chai" (Illustrations by Yoshifumi Hasegawa/BL Shuppan), "Pon-chan no Pon Yasumi" (Kodansha), "Koko ni Iru" (Akatsuki Kyoiku Tosho), and "Kimimimi Thomas" (Original by Jakki Katsura/Akane Shobo). She loves Rakugo so much that she turned her home into a Yose (storytelling theater) called "Tsugihagi-so." She is a special appointed professor at the Department of Illustration, Faculty of Design, Kyoto Seika University, her alma mater.
