[June is Environment Month] Seven-Eleven's Heatstroke Countermeasures for Customers and Store Employees

Seven-Eleven Japan Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Tomohiro Akutsu) will further strengthen its heatstroke countermeasures for customers and store employees as a measure against rising summer temperatures year by year.

According to the weather outlook for July to September released by the Japan Meteorological Agency, the average temperature in July and August is expected to be higher than normal, and severe heat is anticipated after the end of the rainy season. In light of this, as part of its heatstroke countermeasures, Seven-Eleven has been posting posters regarding "Cool Share" in some stores sequentially from Monday, May 18, to allow customers to easily cool down inside the store. In addition to these initiatives, starting sequentially from Monday, June 29, frozen wet towels and salt tablets will be provided to customers and employees to help prevent heatstroke. (※1)

Furthermore, in collaboration with local governments nationwide and Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., heatstroke prevention initiatives and campaigns through the "Seven-Eleven App" and "7NOW" will be sequentially implemented from Tuesday, June 30.

The "Seven-Eleven App" and in-store digital signage (installed in some stores) will display banners and awareness videos from Tuesday, June 30, to Monday, July 13, providing information such as the importance of frequent hydration and avoiding going out as much as possible on extremely hot days. Additionally, for "Seven-Eleven App" members, discount coupons for "Pocari Sweat 900ml" and "Pocari Sweat Ion Water 900ml" will be distributed on Tuesday, June 30, to be used when hydration is needed, such as when commuting to work or when out and about. Seven-Eleven's delivery service "7NOW" will distribute discount coupons that can be used immediately on "7NOW" when one of either "Pocari Sweat 900ml" or "Pocari Sweat Ion Water 900ml" is added to the cart during the campaign period. A special page will also provide information on heatstroke prevention tips. (※3)

Seven-Eleven will continue to promote heatstroke countermeasures to ensure customers, store employees, and local residents can spend their time more comfortably and safely, while also continuing its ongoing energy-saving measures at stores.
