7 New Rice Balls and Sweets Featuring Shizuoka Tea! 'Shizuoka Tea Fair' Starts June 9th (Tuesday)

Seven-Eleven Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Tomohiro Akutsu) will hold the 'Shizuoka Tea Fair' at Seven-Eleven stores in Shizuoka Prefecture starting Tuesday, June 9th, featuring Shizuoka tea made from 100% first-pick tea leaves from Shizuoka Prefecture.

At this fair, a total of 7 products including rice balls, bread, and sweets developed in collaboration using premium 'Shizuoka tea' will be lined up. Customers can enjoy the aroma and slight bitterness of the tea in various products.

We will continue to launch products using Shizuoka tea and promote the appeal of Shizuoka tea throughout the year.

'Local Production for Local Consumption' Initiative

Seven-Eleven is committed to 'local production for local consumption' by highlighting the unique food culture of each region and actively using local ingredients to support producers and contribute to the local economy. By using high-quality raw materials from each prefecture, we aim to convey the charm of local food to many customers and revitalize the entire region.

In Japanese agriculture, production volume is said to be declining due to aging producers and a lack of successors. In Shizuoka Prefecture, production volume has also been decreasing year by year along with a decline in tea farmers.

Therefore, Shizuoka Prefecture has launched a new project to increase the spread of Shizuoka tea. Seven-Eleven Japan has also collaborated, and this fair is being held as part of that effort.
