7-Eleven Japan is rolling out five wagashi products themed around 'coolness' to celebrate 'Wagashi no Hi' (Japanese Confectionery Day). The 'Puru-Mochi Mizu Manju' will be available sequentially at 7-Eleven stores nationwide (excluding parts of the Tohoku, Hokuriku, and Tokai regions) starting Tuesday, June 9.
The lineup, designed to bring 'coolness' to the early summer with refreshing appearances and smooth textures, includes items such as the 'Puru-Mochi Mizu Manju' with a jiggly and chewy texture, and the 'Tsururin Mizu Yokan' with a smooth, melt-in-the-mouth texture.
In recent years, interest in wagashi has been rising due to growing health consciousness and the need for convenient nutrition. By enhancing the wagashi section alongside popular existing products, 7-Eleven proposes a lifestyle where traditional sweets can be enjoyed in a modern way.
About Wagashi no Hi June 16 is Wagashi no Hi. In 848, Emperor Ninmyo offered 16 types of sweets and rice cakes to the gods, praying for the prevention of disease and for good health.
