Seven-Eleven Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Tomohiro Akutsu) will release its original product, 'Dashi-based Chilled Vegetable Pasta,' themed on 'reduced sodium,' in a total of 1,470 Seven-Eleven stores across the six Tohoku prefectures (as of end of April 2026) starting Wednesday, May 13.

In recent years, 'excessive salt intake' has been highlighted as one of the health issues, and the Tohoku region is said to have particularly high 'salt intake.' Seven-Eleven is continuously developing products (appropriate salt content*1) that offer delicious taste while suppressing the equivalent salt content, aiming to improve this health issue. This product is being launched before 'World Hypertension Day' on May 17, with the goal of providing an opportunity to review 'salt intake.'

In this initiative, focusing on soy sauce from a reduced-sodium perspective, we are using a dashi-soy sauce blend developed with a food manufacturer's unique technology that suppresses salt while enhancing umami. Compared to conventional pasta products (*2), which have an average salt equivalent of 4.3g, this new product has reduced it to 2.5g. This product aims to achieve both reduced sodium and deliciousness.

Seven-Eleven has previously offered products with reduced salt content, such as 'Tohoku Limited Sendai Spicy Miso Ramen' (currently sold in Seven-Eleven stores across the six Tohoku prefectures). Moving forward, we will actively develop 'delicious and healthy original products' by devising seasonings that bring out the best in ingredients and cooking methods that utilize the characteristics of salt, thereby supporting the health of the local community.

*1 Product development at Seven-Eleven that understands the characteristics of salt, leverages deliciousness, and leads to reduced sodium.

*2 Applies to our pasta products deployed in the six Tohoku prefectures in fiscal year 2025.

## Dashi-based Chilled Vegetable Pasta

Price: 530 yen (572.40 yen including tax)

Release Date: Sequentially from May 13 (Wednesday)

Sales Area: Six Tohoku prefectures (Aomori, Iwate, Akita, Miyagi, Yamagata, Fukushima)

This is a delicious chilled pasta with a suppressed salt equivalent of 2.5g. Sunny lettuce, leaf lettuce, tomatoes, and broccoli are arranged on top of the pasta, which can be enjoyed with a refreshing dashi-soy sauce blend.

The dashi-soy sauce blend is a result of collaboration with a food manufacturer, using soy sauce that suppresses salt while making it easy to taste umami. Furthermore, by adding 'dashi taken by the manufacturer (bonito, soda, kelp),' umami is enhanced, achieving appropriate salt content.
