Seven-Eleven Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & Representative Director: Tomohiro Akutsu) is pleased to announce that it has held its entrance ceremony for fiscal year 2026, welcoming 109 new employees.

This year, in conjunction with the "-SEVEN-ELEVEN Innovation Expo 2026-" product exhibition, the entrance ceremony has been revamped into a program that allows new employees to "experience" the company's franchise business and key initiatives through its products from their very first day. The entrance ceremony has been positioned as a place to "learn by seeing the company's future first," providing an opportunity to broaden their vision for the future.

On the day, management and all employees welcomed the new employees. A talk session involving the president, guests, and the new employees was also held, creating a space where new hires could share their learnings and resolutions in their own words. Through such programs, we aim to foster understanding of our company's commitment to dialogue and to strive for the development of human resources who will lead the company's future corporate culture transformation.

Message from Our President & Representative Director, Tomohiro Akutsu, to New Employees (Excerpt)

Congratulations on your joining the company, new employees.

I am truly delighted to welcome you as our new colleagues today.

I joined this company as a new graduate in 1994. The origin of my choice for this job was my own experience with Seven-Eleven being a part of my daily life, feeling "it's convenient" and "it was a great help." From that, I thought, "I want to do work where people are grateful." Supported by our franchise owners, business partners, and customers in the community, I am confident that our work remains a valuable endeavor to "make people comfortable, delicious, and happy."

While Seven-Eleven is also advancing labor-saving measures, we will emphasize "customer service, conversation, and human connection" under the concept, "May we be a warm place for someone."

Furthermore, we have been working on transforming our corporate culture. We value a "culture of praise" that expresses gratitude for wonderful challenges and cooperation, and an "error & learn culture" where we challenge ourselves without fear of failure and learn from experience, promoting a mindset that emphasizes initiative.

Finally, I would like to share three mindsets for enjoying your social life as a working adult.

The first is to live correctly as a person (with integrity and style).

The second is to seek change and create the future (error & learn).

The third is to hold a conviction of "this is what I want to be."

What lies ahead in your lives? There will be enjoyable times, difficult times, and challenging times. That is life, and your working life will be similar.

In such times, I want to be a company that grows together with you. Let's work hard together from now on.
