Background

Against the backdrop of explosive growth in internet communication, the shift towards always-on SSL for secure communication is progressing, and the validity period of SSL certificates is being shortened, demanding operation in an even more secure environment.

The domestic load balancer "Netwiser Series" has enhanced its features to realize secure web access, including support for the latest cipher suites and integration with cloud WAFs.

In the next-generation model, considering that the validity period of SSL certificates can be shortened to a maximum of 47 days, an automatic SSL certificate renewal function has been added to prevent system operation risks due to missed renewals and to address the increased operational load on IT administrators.

About the New Feature

The newly implemented automatic SSL certificate renewal function realizes the automation of SSL certificate renewal at ACME-compatible certificate authorities by implementing the ACME (Automatic Certificate Management Environment) protocol. The initially planned supported certificate authorities are DigiCert, GMO GlobalSign, Cybertrust, JPRS, FujiSSL, and Let's Encrypt, with plans to expand this list sequentially.

Furthermore, by revamping the hardware architecture, the dedicated optional board previously required for accelerating SSL processing has been made unnecessary, while achieving SSL processing performance exceeding that of previous models as a standard configuration.

The hardware version lineup has been consolidated into two models: the high-end model features 2 x 10GBASE-T ports and 10 x 1000BASE-T ports, while the standard model features 10 x 1000BASE-T ports. This allows for optimal selection according to the scale of deployment and throughput requirements.

Additionally, a software version load balancer for virtual platforms, equipped with functions equivalent to the hardware version, will be provided simultaneously. This software version supports new hypervisors, enabling consistent operation and unified functionality across both physical and virtual environments.

Seiko Solutions will continue to support the construction of more secure internet communication environments, staying close to operators, through its domestic quality load balancer "Netwiser Series."
