Seikatsu Club Consumers' Cooperative Union (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter Seikatsu Club) will begin supplying an improved shape for its 200ml pasteurized milk bottle, which can be considered its origin, in late March 2026.

The bottle will change from the conventional plain transparent bottle to one with a cute cow illustration, and the shape has been modified with a central indentation to make it easier for children to hold. The cap will also be unified with the 900ml pasteurized milk bottle. After drinking, the cap will be recycled as a resource, and the bottle will be collected, washed, and reused.

■About Seikatsu Club's "Pasteurized Milk"

It is no exaggeration to say that Seikatsu Club's history is intertwined with milk. Seikatsu Club began in 1965 in Setagaya, Tokyo, when over 200 women gathered to start joint purchasing of milk. Subsequently, in an era when awareness of food safety and quality control was still low, the members, believing "we must produce milk that can be drunk with true peace of mind and safety with our own hands," established a milk factory together with dairy farmers in 1979.

Seikatsu Club's milk is produced using the pasteurization method (72℃ for 15 seconds) to preserve the original nutrients and taste of raw milk. The cows' feed is primarily grass and hay, supplemented with grains that are separated to prevent contamination with genetically modified feed. Fresh, delicious, and safe milk is the origin of Seikatsu Club, and it is one of Seikatsu Club's representative products, created with affiliated dairy farmers based on the milk members wanted to drink and have continued to consume.

■Milk Support Fund

Due to factors such as the climate crisis and international affairs, the prices of feed and fuel necessary for raising dairy cows have soared. Seikatsu Club established the "Milk Support Fund" in April 2023 to directly support designated dairy farmers. The fund was created by adding a flat 2 yen to the price of each Seikatsu Club milk product, and it was regularly donated to dairy farmers in Chiba, Tochigi, and Nagano prefectures through Shinsei Dairy Co., Ltd., an affiliated producer of Seikatsu Club milk, to help cover production costs.

FY2023: 21,482,076 yen

FY2024: 21,486,228 yen

FY2025: 15,987,430 yen *Amount includes up to December 2025.

Looking ahead to future milk production and consumption, members and dairy farmers have discussed for a year, and the Milk Support Fund will conclude in March 2026, with a decision to revise the milk price. To ensure that as many people as possible can drink milk daily, we will offer a reduced price increase for those who register for weekly milk delivery. From now on, all members will support dairy farmers by registering for milk reservations and continuing to drink it.
