SEA Co., Ltd. Makes Donation to Joetsu City via 'Regional Revitalization/SDGs Support Private Placement Bond'; Contributing to 'Local Production for Local Consumption of Electricity (VPP Society)' through the Promotion of Smart Off-Grid Houses

SEA Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture; Representative Director: Zenichi Kato), which provides consulting services to builders and contractors nationwide regarding smart houses, has issued a 'Regional Revitalization/SDGs Support Private Placement Bond (Regional Revitalization Type)' for 50 million yen, with The Hachijuni Bank, Ltd. acting as the commissioned and underwriting financial institution. In conjunction with the issuance of this bond, the company donated 100,000 yen to the Joetsu City Environmental Policy Division to support regional contributions and efforts toward realizing a decarbonized society. A presentation ceremony was held at the Joetsu City Hall on March 27, 2026.

■ Background and Intent of the Donation to the Joetsu City Environmental Policy Division

In recent years, due to the surge in primary energy prices caused by international conditions, Japan has seen a continuous rise in electricity and gasoline prices, placing a significant burden on household finances. To realize a lifestyle free from the anxiety of such external factors, our company is committed to the development and promotion of 'Smart Off-Grid Houses™'—homes that do not require purchasing electricity—by leveraging off-grid technology, energy storage systems, and AI cloud HEMS, under the banner of 'local production for local consumption of electricity.'

Furthermore, considering the energy supply and disaster risks associated with being located near the nuclear power plant in Kashiwazaki City, Niigata Prefecture, we aim to build a regional energy system capable of self-reliance during disasters. This donation was made because our vision of developing infrastructure for a living environment compatible with VPP (Virtual Power Plant) and DR (Demand Response) society aligns with the direction of regional environmental policy and decarbonization promoted by the Joetsu City Environmental Policy Division.

Moving forward, we will continue to disseminate the know-how of these 'homes that do not buy electricity' to builders across the country, contributing to the optimization of energy and the creation of sustainable living throughout Japan.
