The disability welfare center 'SOCIALSQUARE Akita Sanno' (Akita City, Akita Prefecture), operated by the non-profit organization Social Design Works (Headquarters: Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture; Representative: Tsuyoshi Kitayama), will hold a community networking event 'Gochamaze Spring Fes Vol.3' on Saturday, April 4, 2026, to commemorate its 3rd anniversary.
Operated under the concept of 'Gochamaze' (mixing together), where people interact beyond differences such as the presence or absence of disabilities, age, and nationality, the facility is organizing this event as an opportunity to look back on its three-year journey with local residents and expand its reach further. Participation is free, people can come and go freely, and anyone is welcome to join.
During the previous event, about 100 people attended, including a diverse range of participants from adults to children, such as local residents, students, and welfare professionals.
Event Overview
Purpose of the Event Since its opening in 2023, SOCIALSQUARE Akita Sanno has created opportunities for diverse people to gather as a place open to the community, in addition to providing employment transition support and independence training (life skills training). Through daily interactions, relationships where people connect as individuals living in the same community are gradually being nurtured, transcending the relationship of 'supporting/being supported.' This event will be held to mark the milestone of its 3rd anniversary, serving as an opportunity to reflect on the progress made with the local people involved so far and to further expand these relationships.
