SCO Group Signs Employment Contracts with Athletes Hiroshi Inada and Junichi Yamamoto

SCO Group Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yusuke Tamai; hereinafter "SCO Group") is pleased to announce that it has entered into employment contracts with Hiroshi Inada, holder of the world record for the oldest finisher of the Ironman race, and Junichi Yamamoto, who is active as a professional triathlete and coach.

SCO Group's vision is to "Create a life that lives to 105 through technology."

Our goal is not simply to live longer. We aim to realize a society where people can live healthily, true to themselves, and continue to pursue their dreams and goals even as they age.

Mr. Inada continues to challenge the Ironman (the world's premier triathlon race) at the age of 93.

Mr. Yamamoto, at 53 years old, continues to compete as an active athlete while also dedicating himself to nurturing the next generation.

Both individuals truly embody the concept of "living."

Previously, SCO Group entered into sponsorship agreements with both athletes to support their respective challenges. To build an even stronger partnership, we have now transitioned to employment contracts. Beyond supporting their athletic activities, we will jointly promote the extension of healthy lifespans, the importance of oral care, and the value of taking on challenges.

■Hiroshi Inada Athlete Profile

Born November 19, 1932.

Began triathlon at age 70 and first competed in the Ironman World Championship (KONA) at age 79. Became world champion at ages 80, 84, and 86, and continues to compete on the world stage even now, in his 90s. Holder of the Guinness World Record™ for the oldest finisher of the Ironman World Championship.

Since 2024, SCO Group has supported me, and I have been able to take on many challenges.

Now 93 years old, this year feels different from previous years; I am also fighting against aging. Last year in Miyazaki and this year in Ishigaki, I had to retire from both races, which was incredibly frustrating.

However, I continue to move forward with the spirit of "If I can do it, I can do it!"

This month, I will once again challenge the Ironman 70.3 Cairns.

I am deeply grateful for the significant support, including from medical institutions, that I will receive through this employment contract.

I want to continue triathlon until I am 100 years old, and I believe I can achieve this.

■Junichi Yamamoto Athlete Profile

Representative of Athlete Works

Debuted in triathlon in 1993.

Joined the national team in 1996 and retired from competitive racing in 2009, but has been involved in triathlon for over 30 years.

Currently active as both an athlete and a coach, he won the World Triathlon Age Group World Championships in 2019 and 2023.

He is also a coach for a group with over 550 members, ranging from beginners to top athletes. On both fronts as a coach and an athlete, he demonstrates his coaching ability while also leading by example in his swimming and running.

■Junichi Yamamoto Athlete Comment

I have entered into an employment contract with SCO Group Co., Ltd. starting June 2026.

I began my career as a professional athlete immediately after graduating from university at age 22, and started working as a coach at age 37.

I am currently active as both a coach and an athlete.

This employment contract with SCO Group, which has the vision of "Creating a life that lives to 105 through technology," is a major milestone in my life as I turn 53.

I intend to continue to refine my mind, technique, and body, and to maintain my running and communication in a way that serves as a guide for many people.

I am still only 53. I want to cherish each day, resist "maintaining the status quo," and continuously challenge and evolve.
