Scania Japan Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Alain Soudan; hereinafter "Scania Japan") has opened the "Scania Japan Sendai Sales Office" to strengthen its sales structure in the Tohoku area. This facility is positioned as part of an initiative to expand sales and after-sales service networks, promoted as part of a partnership with NX Shoji Co., Ltd.
Against the backdrop of rising logistics demand and the diversification of regional transport needs in recent years, the demand for high-performance trucks and reliable services in the Tohoku area has been steadily increasing. The Sendai facility is located in a key logistics hub adjacent to the Port of Sendai-Shiogama, an area where many transport operators are concentrated. While operations in this region have previously focused primarily on service, the addition of sales functions to the existing service structure at the NX Shoji Sendai facility creates a system that provides integrated sales and after-sales support. Moving forward, the company will proceed with full-scale market development, treating the Tohoku area as a key growth market.
The target region primarily covers Aomori, Iwate, and Miyagi prefectures, with plans to gradually expand into Akita and Yamagata prefectures in line with the future enhancement of the service structure.
The office is located within the Sendai Factory of the Maintenance Department of NX Shoji's Sendai Branch, which became a Scania service dealer in 2025, establishing a system that provides integrated sales and after-sales service. By collaborating with the logistics and maintenance network possessed by NX Shoji, the company will realize rapid, high-quality, community-based support, contributing to the maximization of vehicle uptime and the improvement of operational efficiency.
Sho Yoshimura, General Manager of Direct Dealer Sales, East Japan, Truck Sales Division, Scania Japan:
"Under our new sales structure, we are actively pursuing market development in the Tohoku area, based at the NX Shoji Sendai Factory. The Tohoku area is a market with extremely high potential where further growth is expected. Through our community-based initiatives, we look forward to contributing to the business development of our customers while also anticipating a steady expansion in future sales volume."
Through its partnership with NX Shoji, Scania Japan will continue to further strengthen its sales and service network within Japan. The company will continue to build structures tailored to the characteristics of each region to support the long-term business growth of its customers.
