SBI Life Insurance Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Hidenori Shinohara; hereinafter "SBI Life") has made a donation to the Japan Hearing Dogs Association (Headquarters: Kamiina-gun, Nagano Prefecture; Chairperson: Moto Arima; hereinafter "the Association").
This initiative is part of the company's social contribution activities, which aim to realize our corporate philosophy of "eliminating the anxieties of each individual and supporting a life where they can take on challenges." This year marks the 23rd year since the program began in 2003.
■ Our Initiatives
SBI Life deeply resonates with the training and promotion of "hearing dogs" and "service dogs" that support the daily lives of people with hearing or physical disabilities, and we have continued our support for many years.
This support is not only company-led but is primarily funded by donations from voluntary employees who wish to "be of some help." The accumulation of each employee's dedication has led to 23 years of continuous support.
■ What is a Hearing Dog?
A hearing dog is a dog specially trained to notify people with hearing impairments of various sounds in their daily lives.
They support users by alerting them to important sounds such as doorbells, telephones, alarm clocks, fire alarms, and baby cries, and by guiding them to the source of the sound, allowing them to live with peace of mind.
