Meguru Shiiba Co., Ltd. (Shiiba Village, Higashiusuki District, Miyazaki Prefecture, Representative Director: Takahito Matano), a group company of SatoYume Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director CEO: Shunpei Shimada), which supports regional revitalization and business creation across Japan, will open the restaurant "Nosari" in the Kami-Shiiba district of Shiiba Village, Miyazaki Prefecture on July 10, 2026.

"Nosari" is a restaurant that finishes dishes, primarily gibier, using the blessings of Shiiba Village's satoyama, cooked over an open flame. It will launch as a new culinary hub that expresses local ingredients and inherited wisdom on a plate, connecting visitors with the community.

Furthermore, "Nosari" will also operate as a snack bar called "Nava" (pronounced Na-ba) in the evenings, aiming to be a place not only for dining but also for people to meet, converse, and foster connections with the local community.

Background of the Opening

The opening of Restaurant "Nosari" and Snack Bar "Nava" is an initiative born from the implementation of the tourism promotion plan formulated by Shiiba Village.

The Shiiba Village Tourism Promotion Plan designates "creating an environment where Shiiba Village's unique cuisine can be offered" as one of its key policies. The ingredients nurtured in the rich natural environment, traditional practices such as slash-and-burn agriculture, and the food culture passed down through generations are significant attractions unique to Shiiba Village.

On the other hand, there was also a challenge: a lack of places where visitors could experience these elements as a unified experience and gain a deeper understanding of the region's value.

Against this backdrop, Meguru Shiiba is opening Restaurant "Nosari" and Snack Bar "Nava" to convey Shiiba's climate, culture, and the lives of its producers through its cuisine.

It is a place where visitors can not only savor seasonal local ingredients but also touch upon the stories and lives of the people behind each dish. The aim is to create a hub where people can experience the charm of Shiiba Village through food and forge new connections with the community.

"Nosari" is an ancient word in Shiiba.

It signifies the blessings bestowed by the mountain gods and nature after people have done their utmost, sometimes overcoming difficulties and sacrifices. It is gratitude for blessings that come not from passively waiting for good fortune, but from fulfilling one's duties. This approach to nature is embodied in the word "Nosari."

The bar will offer cocktails and drinks featuring local ingredients and seasonal flavors, creating an atmosphere where guests can enjoy snacks while experiencing Shiiba's people and culture.

Opening Ceremony Held

An opening ceremony was held on July 2, 2026, prior to the opening of Restaurant "Nosari" and Snack Bar "Nava."

The event was attended by many guests, including local residents and members of the press, to celebrate the birth of the new exchange hub.

During the ceremony, the facility was unveiled, and dishes from "Nosari" were introduced and sampled, showcasing Shiiba's food culture and regional attractions.

A talk session was also held with Chef Hiroyasu Suzuki, who supervised all the menus for "Nosari," and hunter and Shiiba Village Tourism Association Chairman, Ichijitsu Omae, who discussed the philosophy behind the Shiiba word "Nosari" and the culinary appeal of Shiiba Village.
