Satoyume Co., Ltd., a Regional Revitalization Producer, to Take Over the Accommodation Facility "Shimanto no Yado" in Shimanto City, Kochi Prefecture from the JR Shikoku Group

Satoyume Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Shunpei Shimada; hereinafter "the Company"), which produces regional revitalization projects across Japan, announces that it will take over the business of the accommodation facility "Shimanto no Yado" (Shimanto City, Kochi Prefecture), currently owned by Shikoku Railway Company (Headquarters: Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Kazuyuki Shinomiya; hereinafter "JR Shikoku") and operated by JR Shikoku's consolidated subsidiary, Shikoku Kaihatsu Kensetsu Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Naoki Takase; hereinafter "Shikoku Kaihatsu Kensetsu"), effective April 1, 2027, and will transition to a new management structure.

In the future operation of the facility, a new company that the Company plans to establish in Shimanto City will take the lead in building a sustainable management system rooted in the region.

■ Background of the Business Transfer and Thoughts on "Regional Revitalization"

Since its opening in July 2002, "Shimanto no Yado" has been operated by the JR Shikoku Group together with the adjacent facility "Shimanto Iyashi no Sato" owned by Shimanto City. As a landmark embraced by the rich natural environment at the mouth of the Shimanto River, it has been disseminating the region's charm and playing a role in tourism promotion for 24 years.

On the other hand, as the challenges faced by rural areas become more diverse with the changing times, in order to further draw out the potential of the area and enhance its regional value, approaches that go beyond just facility management are required. These include "community development integrated with the region" starting from this facility, "creation of related population," and "circulation of the regional economy."

Against this backdrop, the Company, which has been developing hotel operations utilizing regional resources, specialty product development, and comprehensive regional revitalization projects across the country under the mission of "making hometown dreams come true," has decided to take over this business as a successor operator to fully invest its track record and know-how.

It has been decided that the name "Shimanto no Yado," which has been loved for many years, will continue after the business transfer. The Company plans to start operations under the new system on April 1, 2027, and will work to create new value by respecting its history and charm while combining its expertise in regional revitalization production.

Going forward, the Company will promote mechanisms to create employment through the establishment of a new company, return profits to the region, and spread tourism consumption throughout the area. Starting from "Shimanto no Yado," it will co-create the future of the Shimanto region and contribute to further sustainable revitalization.
