In recent years, there have been areas across the country where habituated wild monkeys (lone monkeys) appear around residential areas or where troops constantly appear, posing challenges not only to agricultural crops but also to the living environment and community safety.
On the other hand, challenges such as:
・Difficulty in continuing countermeasures on a community-led basis
・Difficulty in information sharing between government and the community
・Difficulty in solving the problem by capture alone
are also increasing.
In response to these regional issues, Saru Taisakusho will newly launch a study group for neighborhood associations and local groups to support the creation of a locally sustainable countermeasure system.

Overview of the Study Group
In this study group, we will help local residents discuss and consider response policies while talking about practical examples according to the local situation, the ecology and characteristics of Japanese macaques, related laws and regulations, and methods for implementing countermeasures around residential areas and those that can be sustained by the community.
We will mainly introduce knowledge necessary for advancing countermeasures in the region and content that is easy to practice.
Mainly targeted at regions like these:
・Increasing trend of lone monkeys or troops appearing around residential areas
・Sightings occurring on school routes or around schools
・Want to promote community-led countermeasures
・Want to build a sustainable regional countermeasure system, etc.
