Sanwa Shutter Launches IoT Management Service 'RemoSmaPro' Nationwide

Sanwa Shutter Industrial Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Itabashi-ku, Tokyo / President: Meiji Takayama) will launch its IoT management service 'RemoSmaPro' nationwide starting June 18.

In recent years, building management sites have faced increasing demands for labor-saving and efficiency improvements in equipment management due to labor shortages and work-style reforms. Particularly for opening devices such as shutters, in addition to the burden of daily opening/closing operations and inspection rounds, the shortage of facility managers capable of promptly identifying abnormalities or responding to sudden failures has become increasingly severe.

To address these challenges, our company has developed the 'RemoSma Platform (RSP)', an IoT infrastructure that centrally manages building openings through data.

The IoT management service 'RemoSmaPro' is an IoT service that enables remote monitoring and operation of opening devices such as shutters via this platform, along with functions such as anomaly notifications and history management. This allows a shift from traditional on-site-focused equipment management to efficient management through remote monitoring and data utilization, contributing to the advancement and efficiency of building management operations and our maintenance services.

Furthermore, we will continue to expand services based on this platform and create new value, further enhancing building management.

① Real-time Visibility of Status [Remote Monitoring]

Visualize the opening/closing status and operational condition of shutters in real time. Status checks from remote locations reduce the burden of inspection rounds. Additionally, monitoring the open status of the high-speed sheet shutter 'QuickSaver' helps prevent environmental deterioration such as dust and insect intrusion due to being left open, and contributes to energy cost reduction by maintaining air conditioning efficiency.

② Safe and Reliable Operation from a Distance [Remote Operation]

Individually operate shutters at multiple sites from a computer screen, enabling efficient management without visiting the site. Timer settings for automatic opening/closing allow planned operations according to time of day. Furthermore, during opening/closing, audio and visual alerts warn surrounding people, and safety functions such as automatic stop upon detecting obstacles or people via sensors ensure safe remote operation.

③ Immediate Notification of Anomalies, Supporting Rapid Response [Anomaly Notification]

Instant email notifications upon detecting malfunctions or abnormal operations. Early detection and rapid response to issues contribute to reduced downtime and improved safety.

④ Visibility of Maintenance Timing [Predictive Maintenance]

By accumulating and analyzing operational data such as number of opening/closing cycles and usage duration, the system proactively notifies when parts are nearing replacement. This enables planned maintenance, prevents unexpected failures, and optimizes maintenance costs.

⑤ Secure Operations via IoT Platform [Integrated Management]

We have established the 'RemoSma Platform (RSP)', an IoT platform service infrastructure. It reduces the risk of unauthorized access from external networks, ensures high security, and centrally manages data. As an extensible platform, it also supports integration with various equipment.

⑥ Significant Reduction in Installation Cost and Duration via Wireless [Ease of Installation]

Adopting wireless communication eliminates the need for extensive wiring work, significantly reducing installation costs and construction time. It supports not only new installations but also retrofitting to existing shutters. We provide one-stop support from installation to operation, contributing to long-term equipment value enhancement.
