Sanwa Shutter Expands Design Range for "Water Guard Waterproof Shutter"

Sanwa Shutter Kogyo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Itabashi-ku, Tokyo / President: Meiji Takayama) will expand the design range of its "Water Guard Waterproof Shutter" and begin sales on March 27.

Launched in October 2014, the "Water Guard Waterproof Shutter" is a panel-type shutter with waterproofing capable of withstanding floodwaters up to 3 meters high. While typically used as a management shutter, it has been adopted as a waterproof facility to prevent water from entering buildings during large typhoons or sudden, intense downpours at the entrances and exits of subways, financial institutions, factories, drainage pump stations, and more.

To better meet a wider range of customer needs, we have expanded the design range from the previous maximum of W6,000mm and H4,000mm to W8,000mm and H5,250mm, while maintaining the highest grade of waterproof performance (Ws-6). This enables installation in locations requiring high waterproof performance for larger openings, such as the entrances of facilities used by large special-purpose vehicles like fire stations and waste treatment plants, as well as loading bays for large equipment.

We have achieved the industry's largest design range for a waterproof shutter. It can accommodate dimensions up to H4,459mm at W8,000mm, and H5,250mm at W7,200mm.

② JIS Highest Grade Ws-6 Waterproof Performance

Even with the expanded design range, it secures the highest waterproof performance grade, Ws-6 (leakage rate of 1ℓ/h･㎡ or less), as stipulated in JIS A 4716.
