Correspondence High School 'Believing in Face-to-Face Value' Holds Cultural Festival; Asuka Mirai High School Sendai and Asuka Mirai Kizuna High School Sendai Host Joint Event to Learn Strength of Social Microcosm

Asuka Mirai High School Group, which operates correspondence high schools emphasizing face-to-face interactions and relationships across 45 campuses nationwide, will hold a joint cultural festival at its Sendai campuses—Asuka Mirai High School Sendai and Asuka Mirai Kizuna High School Sendai—on June 19 (Fri), 20 (Sat), and 23 (Tue), 2026.

At the cultural festival, students from diverse backgrounds will plan and operate stalls and stage performances in classes or teams. For students who have experienced school refusal or have anxiety about school life, the process of creating the festival—discussing with peers, experiencing differences in opinion, and navigating failures—serves as a 'microcosm of society,' helping them cultivate confidence in interacting with others and a positive outlook on school life.

The festival will not be open to the general public to maintain a safe environment for current students to challenge themselves. Instead, it serves as a place for junior high school students considering enrollment and their guardians to feel that 'this is a place where I can attend with peace of mind.' The Asuka Mirai High School Group continues to aim for education that nurtures the ability to step into society by standing by each student's potential and turning challenges into hope, based on its philosophy of 'education that never gives up.'

For this joint festival, internal stalls will be held at Asuka Mirai High School Sendai on June 19 and at Asuka Mirai Kizuna High School Sendai on June 20, followed by a 'Joint Stage Presentation' on June 23, featuring musical-style performances and calligraphy.

During preparation, teachers provide support while students are encouraged to take on diverse roles via surveys, ensuring that even students with anxiety can easily express their intentions.
