Sankei Building and Haseko Corporation's First Joint Hotel Development: (Tentative) Hakone Gora Hotel Project - Hilton's First Entry into Hakone with 'LXR Hotels & Resorts', Scheduled to Open in Summer 2028

Sankei Building Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kazunobu Iijima), Haseko Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Ken Matsumoto), and Hilton (Headquarters: Virginia, USA; President and CEO: Christopher J. Nassetta) announce that they will open a hotel under Hilton's luxury brand "LXR Hotels & Resorts" in Hakone in the summer of 2028.

Sankei Building Co., Ltd. and Haseko Corporation signed a branding and management agreement with Hilton on March 30, 2026, for a hotel project (hereinafter, "the Hotel Project") that they have been developing in Gora, Hakone-machi, Ashigarashimo-gun, Kanagawa Prefecture. This hotel project will be the first Hilton hotel to debut in Hakone.

"LXR Hotels & Resorts" is a collection brand consisting of luxury hotels, with 18 properties worldwide. In Japan, the brand made its first appearance with the opening of "ROKU KYOTO, LXR Hotels & Resorts" in Kyoto in September 2021. This brand offers a luxury experience in carefully selected hotels located in fascinating destinations around the world, stimulating a timeless sense of adventure and infusing the unique story and essence of the local area to the guests.

Hakone Gora is located in the center of Hakone, one of Japan's leading hot spring resorts, and is known for its beautiful seasonal natural landscapes and abundant hot spring resources. The Hotel Project faces a mystical forest known as "Momijidani" (Autumn Leaf Valley), a beautiful spot for autumn foliage managed by Kanagawa Prefecture. In addition, spots where visitors can enjoy nature and art, such as the Hakone Open-Air Museum, Hakone Museum of Art, and Gora Park, are scattered within walking distance of the Hotel Project. It also has excellent access from the city center, being about a 3-minute walk from the nearest station, "Koen-Kami" on the Hakone Tozan Cable Car.

■ Features of the Hotel Project

- Luxury type rooms of 50 sqm or more, equipped with a guest room open-air bath.

- Dog-friendly rooms will be provided in some guest rooms, accommodating stays with pet dogs.

- "Momijidani" spreads out in front of the hotel, allowing guests to enjoy the grand nature of Hakone, including Momijidani, from their rooms.
