Takao Saito (Real name: Takao Saito) was born in Wakayama Prefecture on November 3, 1936.
He moved to Sakai City, Osaka at the age of 6, and debuted at 19 with the comic book 'Kuki Danshaku' (Air Baron) published by Hinomaru Bunko, a rental manga publisher in Osaka.
He became a popular author, moved to Tokyo at 22, and established Saito Production at 24.
Just as Saito called himself a 'gekiga artist' rather than a 'manga artist', his gekiga have blended with various genres, forms, and styles, influencing the Japanese manga industry for over 60 years.

This book covers the representative works of the gekiga artist Takao Saito, starting with 'Typhoon Goro' and including '007 Series', 'Muyonosuke', 'Golgo 13', 'Kage Gari' (Shadow Hunter), 'Barom-1', 'Devil King', 'Survival', 'Itemae Takeru', and 'Onihei Hankacho'.
It also includes a legendary all-star short story.
