New Features That Evolve Samsung Galaxy Watch into an Intelligent Health Partner
The Samsung Health update includes the following features:
Vitals: Deeper Understanding of Body Signals
Previously, Samsung Health monitored specific health indicators to calculate daily Energy Score. With the upgraded Vitals feature, it analyzes five key overnight biometric signals (heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, skin temperature, and blood oxygen level) upon waking and compares them with the user's baseline. Notifications are sent only when meaningful deviations are detected, reducing unnecessary alerts while helping determine whether more rest is needed or if there are signs of illness.
Heart Health Score: Supporting Long-term Health Maintenance
Last year, Samsung introduced Vascular Load to monitor vascular strain for more comprehensive health management. Now, Samsung announces the Heart Health Score, a further evolution of that vision. The Heart Health Score is a single metric calculated by combining sleep, stress, activity data from Vascular Load with body composition data. It visualizes lifestyle factors affecting long-term health, allowing users to assess heart health at a glance.
Daily Cardio Load: Smarter Cardio Workouts
To help determine appropriate training intensity during cardio exercises, Daily Cardio Load measures accumulated cardiovascular load. It calculates daily load and training capacity limits, suggesting optimal training goals and rest periods to reduce burnout and injury risk while supporting more effective goal achievement.
Fitness Index: Continuous Fitness Progress Tracking
The Fitness Index analyzes heart rate, VO2 max, and daily step count by comparing with users of similar age and conditions to verify the effectiveness of daily exercise. It clearly shows individual strengths and weaknesses in physical ability, providing tailored content and personalized goals to support continuous and targeted training improvement.
New Samsung Health Design for Simple and Personal Experience
To make proactive health insights easier to use, Samsung Health now features a simpler, more intuitive layout centered on five main categories: Sleep, Activity, Nutrition, Mindfulness, and Vitals. The home screen displays AI-powered Energy Score along with easy-to-find daily health advice. By consolidating related information, it simplifies health management and helps users instantly see connections between various daily habits.
Enhanced Features for More Proactive Health Management
Samsung Health also significantly enhances existing major features to provide more accurate and personalized health insights. The Antioxidant Index helps users better understand their nutritional intake. New trend charts and daily logs allow visual tracking of dietary habits and body changes over time. The AGEs (Advanced Glycation End-products) index has also evolved to automatically collect nighttime measurement data without user intervention, enabling long-term understanding of how accumulated lifestyle habits affect the body. This provides users with more meaningful health information to improve long-term well-being.
