SalivaTech Inc. (Headquarters: Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture, President and CEO: Makoto Sunamura, hereinafter "SalivaTech") will launch a new test kit for its saliva-based cancer risk test "SalivaChecker®" today, April 1, 2026, which enables room temperature storage and return via mail-in.

This renewal will significantly reduce the preparation and shipping effort associated with the test, providing an environment where anyone can naturally check their health status in their daily lives.

Background: From Testing as a "Special Occasion" to a "Daily Habit"

From their 40s onwards, when cancer risk increases, many people recognize the importance of testing but postpone concrete actions such as undergoing health check-ups or cancer screenings, or taking care of their own bodies, due to daily busyness and procedural hassle.

SalivaTech believes that "lowering the hurdle for testing is the first step towards early detection," and through technological innovation, has achieved both "room temperature storage" and "mail-in returns." This has created a new form of testing that is accessible to everyone, regardless of their lifestyle.

Features of the New Kit and Benefits for Test-takers

・ "Room Temperature Compatible" - No Specific Storage Location Needed The collected saliva can be stored at room temperature until it is returned. There is no need to secure space in a freezer, and after the kit arrives, you can perform the test relaxedly at your optimal timing, according to your own schedule and physical condition (including preparation such as dietary restrictions the day before).

・ Simply Put It in the Mailbox to Complete There is no need to request pickup from a delivery service or hand it over in person. Simply drop it in the mailbox when you're out for a walk or shopping, and the testing process is complete. This simplicity removes the psychological and time-related barriers that have made people hesitate to get tested.

・ Self-Care for Health with a Low Physical Burden "Saliva Test" Saliva collection is painless and causes extremely little burden on the body. By following the specified collection rules (e.g., dietary restrictions), risk assessment can be easily performed. Incorporating this kit as an option for regular health checks creates an opportunity to take care of one's own body as "one's own business."

Representative's Message: Makoto Sunamura, President and CEO, SalivaTech Inc.

As a digestive surgeon, I have faced pancreatic cancer, which has the poorest prognosis, and have stood on the front lines of countless lives. What I keenly felt there was the undeniable fact that 'lives could be saved if only it were discovered earlier.'

We must not let cutting-edge technology developed at universities remain mere academic achievements; unless it takes root in society as a business, it cannot become a system for protecting people's health. Through the provision of frozen kits, we have been working on its social implementation.

The birth of this new kit, which enables room temperature storage and transport, as well as mail-in returns, is a major step forward in advancing this endeavor to the next phase. By making testing more convenient, we have come one step closer to realizing our ideal of 'a well-being society where everyone can live healthily and true to themselves.'

At the same time, this renewal holds significant meaning from an environmental perspective. By eliminating the need for refrigerants and simplifying packaging, we have achieved a sustainable initiative that also considers the global environment.

We hope that this new kit will take root in society as an easy and familiar self-care habit, and grow into a presence that supports each person's 'happiness today.' SalivaTech will continue to be a bridge connecting future medicine with daily life, balancing cutting-edge scientific technology with a human-friendly perspective.
