Sakura Forest Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City; Representative Director: Reo Takashima), which operates the skincare brand 'My+Cee Skinity,' conducted an online questionnaire targeting women in Japan to understand their interest in Korean beauty and skincare selection habits.

In recent years, Korean beauty has attracted attention from a wide range of generations in Japan alongside beauty needs such as 'transparency,' 'pore care,' and 'glow.' However, there are various hurdles to actually experiencing beauty esthetics and clinics in Korea, such as cost, time, and safety. This survey summarized the reasons for being attracted to Korean beauty and the reasons for not being able to take the first step.

### Interest in Korean Beauty and Priorities in Skincare Selection The survey polled women on their interest in Korean beauty esthetics and clinics, their experience with Korean cosmetics, their impressions of Korean beauty, and their concerns.

Target: Women in their 30s to 40s; Effective responses: 176.

First, in response to the question 'Are you interested in beauty esthetics in Korea?', 13.1% said 'very interested' and 22.7% said 'slightly interested,' showing that about one in three are interested in Korean beauty esthetics. Furthermore, regarding the impression of Korean beauty, 'increased transparency' was the most common response at 31.8%, followed by 'pores becoming less noticeable' (26.7%), 'glowing skin' (25.0%), and 'staying ahead of trends' (23.3%). It is clear that there are high expectations for Korean beauty to positively change skin impressions. On the other hand, 'seems like strong irritation' was 22.2% and 'high hurdle' was 14.2%, showing that both charm and anxiety exist simultaneously.

### Skincare Needed in the Future Based on Survey Results Despite the high interest, not many have actually experienced beauty clinics in Korea. Among those interested, 60.3% said 'No' to having experienced it locally. This highlights the challenge of 'having interest but finding it difficult to act.' The most common reason for not having experienced it was 'high travel and treatment costs' (63.2%), followed by 'no time to travel' (39.5%), 'concerns about treatment safety' (31.6%), and 'concerns about skin compatibility' (26.3%).

Regarding Korean cosmetics, 25.6% are 'currently using' and 18.2% have 'used in the past,' totaling 43.8% with experience. Concerns among users included 'compatibility with skin' (37.7%) and 'ingredients appearing too strong' (26.0%).

These results reveal that while there is definitive interest in Korean beauty, multiple hurdles exist for both experience and usage. Therefore, there is a demand for skincare that incorporates the charms of Korean beauty while being easy to continue in daily life and considerate of Japanese skin.
