In order to prevent occupational accidents among older workers, the revised Industrial Safety and Health Act promulgated in May 2025 obliges employers to make efforts to improve the working environment, manage work, and take other necessary measures that take into account the characteristics of older workers, and will come into effect on April 1, 2026. The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's "Study Group on Measures to Prevent Occupational Accidents among Older Workers" compiled a report and published it as "Items to be included in the Guidelines (tentative name) and Circulars for the Prevention of Occupational Accidents among Older Workers."

■ Penalties and disadvantages for not providing education
