'I wanted someone to hear me' Express those feelings in 5-7-5 syllables - Call for submissions for Back-office Senryu begins

RX Japan Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, President: Takeshi Tanaka) has started accepting submissions for "Back-office Senryu," a project that uniquely expresses the daily feelings and concerns of people working in back offices such as general affairs, human resources, and accounting.

In the back-office worksites that support corporate activities every day, there are many unspoken true feelings and "relatable moments" that unintentionally make one smile. At the "General Affairs, HR, & Accounting Week," Japan's largest* exhibition for back-office personnel and executives hosted by RX Japan Ltd., we will hold the participatory project "Back-office Senryu," where such real feelings and daily lives are expressed in 5-7-5 syllables.

In the past, many poems from the perspective of those who actually work in the field have gathered, such as the panic of being pressed by deadlines, tasks accumulating from nowhere, and days swayed by system changes, evoking great empathy. In this project, we solicit senryu from back-office personnel nationwide and select nominated works. After that, the grand prize will be decided through a web vote.

Please submit a poem expressing the slight frustrations or chuckles you feel in your daily work. Your senryu might be an opportunity to connect with many "someones who feel the same way." We look forward to your many submissions.

[Application Guidelines]

Application deadline:

Prizes:
[Grand Prize] QUO card worth 30,000 yen (1 person)
[Special Jury Prize] QUO card worth 10,000 yen (2 people)
[Nomination] QUO card worth 1,000 yen (7 people)

Eligibility/Conditions:
- Those in back-office departments nationwide
- Those who can agree to the application terms
- Must be a senryu related to back-office work

- Mr. Shusaku Yokobori, Editor-in-Chief, Monthly "Kigyo Jitsumu"

The poems gathered in the Back-office Senryu are introduced to people who work in back offices in the same way. One of those places is the venue of the exhibition "General Affairs, HR, & Accounting Week," where many people involved in back offices gather. At the venue, people stopping by amidst their busy daily lives see the poems and stop to think, "I understand" or "I'm the same." Such scenes are born every year. A casual 5-7-5 poem to the person who wrote it might lighten someone else's feelings or make them a little more positive about tomorrow's work. We want to continue to cherish such experiences. We are looking forward to your applications.
