RX Japan Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Takeshi Tanaka) has announced that the Quantum Strategic Industry Alliance (Q-STAR) (Secretariat: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Taro Shimada) and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) (Headquarters: Kawasaki, Kanagawa; Chairman: Tamotsu Saito) will serve as supporting organizations for the 6th Quantum Computing EXPO [Spring] (hereinafter "the Exhibition"), which will be held at Tokyo Big Sight in April 2026.

The Exhibition is the only trade show in Japan* dedicated to quantum computers and is held as part of NexTech Week 2026 [Spring]. It allows attendees to compare and examine the current state of quantum computing technology, ranging from the latest research and applications to implementation support and human resource development. Because it is held concurrently with other exhibitions within NexTech Week (covering AI, blockchain, humanoid robots, and human resource/organizational reform in the AI era), it enables cross-sectoral comparison of related cutting-edge technologies, creating opportunities for concrete business negotiations and partnerships.

Quantum computing is steadily progressing from basic research to demonstration and application phases aimed at social implementation. Use cases directly linked to business value are taking shape, including the discovery of new materials and drugs, combinatorial optimization (logistics, personnel allocation, etc.), cryptography and security, and Quantum x AI (quantum machine learning). In line with this, the surrounding ecosystem—such as cloud usage, implementation support, and human resource development—is expanding, providing companies with more options to test the technology on a small scale and gradually broaden their areas of application. On the other hand, expanding the industry requires broadening the base of human resources, promoting literacy, and advancing international cooperation and standardization; collaboration within the ecosystem, including industry, academia, government, and startups, is key.

With the participation of two supporting organizations—Q-STAR, which leads the creation of industry-academia-government collaboration platforms, standardization, and human resource development, and NEDO, which supports the promotion of research and development, demonstration, and social implementation—the value of this exhibition, which brings together visitors, exhibitors, and research institutions, will be further strengthened, contributing to the acceleration of the social implementation and industrialization of quantum technology.

*Continuously listed as a "specialized trade fair for quantum computing" in third-party databases (JETRO J-messe) and official venue records. No other equivalent trade fair has been confirmed (as of February 5, 2026, according to our research).

[Comments]

Quantum Strategic Industry Alliance (Q-STAR) Representative Director: Mr. Taro Shimada I sincerely welcome the holding of the Quantum Computing EXPO. Aiming for the social implementation of quantum technology and the creation of new industries, Q-STAR has been promoting collaboration among industry, academia, government, and startups, as well as human resource development, standardization, and international cooperation. This exhibition is an ideal venue for diverse players to concretize use cases and paths to implementation. Through collaboration with visitors and exhibitors, we will further accelerate demonstration, standardization, and the expansion of the human resource base, contributing to the realization of a society where quantum technology can be utilized without even being conscious of it.

RX Japan Ltd. Quantum Computing EXPO Secretariat Director: Atom Shimoda I am confident that by combining the industry-academia-government expertise of Q-STAR and NEDO with the "real-world dialogue space" provided by this exhibition, we will create opportunities for practitioners to deepen essential discussions and learning. Currently, many companies are still in the process of determining how to apply quantum technology to their business challenges. This exhibition aims to serve as a catalyst for everyone to realize the possibilities and as a place to encounter concrete methods and new partners. Together with our supporting organizations and other stakeholders, we will accelerate the social implementation and industrialization of quantum technology through reliable demonstrations and the expansion of the human resource base.

Note: The supporting organization comment included in this release is provided solely by the Quantum Strategic Industry Alliance (Q-STAR). While an individual comment from the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) is not included, this exhibition is held with the support of both organizations.
